Joint News Release NEW AND IMPROVED BUS SERVICES IN FEBRUARY 2015 2 February 2015 - As part of the Bus Service Enhancement Programme (BSEP), two new bus services - Services 301 and 983 - operated by SMRT Buses will be launched in Choa Chu Kang on Sunday, 15 February 2015. At the same time, SMRT Services 300 and 982E which also serve Choa Chu Kang residents will have their routes amended. SBST Service 386, which plies Punggol, will be extended to serve more residents. The details are: Starting Sunday, 15 February 2015 • New feeder Service 301: Choa Chu Kang Bus Interchange to Keat Hong Close • New trunk Service 983: Choa Chu Kang Bus Interchange to Keat Hong Close • Amendment of feeder Service 300 to a dual-directional loop service • Extension of feeder Service 386 to ply Punggol Field, Punggol East and Punggol Central Starting Monday, 16 February 2015 • Addition stops for Service 982E Service 301 2. New feeder Service 301, plying between Choa Chu Kang Bus Interchange and Keat Hong Close, will serve Choa Chu Kang Way, Choa Chu Kang Avenue 3 and Choa Chu Kang Avenue 5 en-route. 3. The service will provide existing residents, and residents of new BTOs along Choa Chu Kang Avenue 5 and Keat Hong Close, with a direct connection to Choa Chu Kang Bus Interchange and MRT station. In addition, it will enhance connectivity to key amenities such as Lot 1 Shopping Mall and Sunshine Place. 4. Service 301 will operate from 5.30am to 12.55am on weekdays, and from 5.45am to 12.55am on weekends and public holidays. Service 983 5. New trunk Service 983 will be introduced to enhance connectivity within Choa Chu Kang. Plying between Choa Chu Kang Bus Interchange and Keat Hong Close, via Choa Chu Kang Avenue 4 and Avenue 5, Service 983 will provide residents with an additional connection to the key transport node of Choa Chu Kang Bus Interchange and MRT station. The new service will operate daily from 5.45am to 11.45pm. 6. Service 983 is also planned to be extended to Bukit Panjang. This is in tandem with future new developments in Choa Chu Kang and to enhance connectivity to Bukit Panjang, including the upcoming Downtown Line 2. Service 300 7. Feeder Service 300 currently serves residents at Choa Chu Kang Avenue 2, 3, 4 and 5. With the introduction of Services 301 and 983, Service 300 will be amended to operate as a dual-directional loop service, skipping Avenue 5 and the section of Avenue 3 between Choa Chu Kang Way and Choa Chu Kang Avenue 1. 8. Starting from Choa Chu Kang Bus Interchange, Service 300G will ply Choa Chu Kang Avenue 4, Choa Chu Kang Avenue 1, Choa Chu Kang Avenue 2 and Choa Chu Kang Way before returning to the bus interchange. Service 300W will operate in the opposite direction via Choa Chu Kang Way, Avenue 2, Avenue 3 and Avenue 4. The amended service will continue to operate from 5.30am to 12.55am on weekdays, and from 5.45am to 12.55am on weekends and public holidays. Service 386 9. Feeder Service 386, which currently starts from Punggol Bus Interchange and plies Punggol Central and Edgefield Plains, will be extended to ply Punggol Drive, Edgedale Plains, Punggol Field, Punggol East and Punggol Central. 10. The extended service will serve more developments in the Punggol East area and enhance connectivity to key amenities such as Punggol Waterway, Tebing Lane, Punggol Plaza, and schools such as Greendale Primary, Greendale Secondary and Horizon Primary. Its operating hours of 5.45am to 12.35am daily remain unchanged. Service 982E 11. With effect from 16 February 2015 (Monday), Service 982E will call at two additional pairs of bus stops along Choa Chu Kang Avenue 5 and Keat Hong Close to serve upcoming developments. This will provide new residents in the area with an alternative travel option to the CBD during peak periods. There is no change to the trip timings with Service 982E continuing to operate two morning trips at 7.30am and 7.45am and two evening trips at 6.15pm and 6.30pm on weekdays, excluding public holidays . 12.
