John 17:18 God and our nation seek you. Are you ready to say ‘yes’ to the call? Graduated Missionary Trainees Friends Focus June 2016 1 n 24th of April, campus of Missionary Training Centre of FMPB Oin Jhansi, UP was in a festive look. Every face I encountered was beamed with lovely smile. I am sure there would have been much joy in heaven. And the Lord of harvest would have rejoiced. The occasion was the graduation function of 79 Brothers and Sisters who had submitted their lives to the call of God to go to spread the gospel among the unreached people of our nation. These talented young people surrendered their everything in the altar of God a year before and had decided to obey God in every situation, joined FMPB as missionaries and have now completed their training. As the commissioning prayer was made for these people of God who are sold out for the gospel, I think two famous quotes: "God isn't looking for people of great faith, but for individuals ready to follow Him" - Hudson Taylor "If God calls you to be a missionary, don't stoop to be a king" - Jordan Grooms Having had no access to the Gospel, 66,000 people die each day in the world that is 2750 every hour, and it pains the heart of God. They die without knowing Christ because we fail in fulfilling the Great Commission of God mentioned in Matthew 28:18-20. Many of us are sympathizing about the people who have no access to gospel, but that is not sufficient. It is the famous missionary to Africa, Dr. David Livingston who said "Sympathy is no substitute for action." What is my action for the lost people? Eze 33:6,7 'But if the watchman sees the sword coming and does not blow the trumpet, and the people are not warned, and the sword comes and takes any person from among them, he is taken away in his iniquity; but his blood I will require at the watchman's hand. So you, son of man: I have made you a watchman for the house of Israel; therefore, you shall hear a word from My mouth and warn them for Me.     1 Indian Languages and Literature Introduction Thousands of years ago, the people of the Harappan civilisation knew how to write. Unfortunately, their script has not yet been deciphered. Despite this setback, it is safe to state that the literary traditions of India go back to over 3,000 years ago. India is a huge land with a continuous history spanning several millennia. There is a staggering degree of variety and diversity in the languages and dialects spoken by Indians. This diversity is a result of the influx of languages and ideas from all over the continent, mostly through migration from Central, Eastern and Western Asia. There are differences and variations in the languages and dialects as a result of several factors – ethnicity, history, geography and others. There is a broad social integration among all the speakers of a certain language. In the beginning languages and dialects developed in the different regions of the country in relative isolation. In India, languages are often a mark of identity of a person and define regional boundaries. Cultural mixing among various races and communities led to the mixing of languages and dialects to a great extent, although they still maintain regional identity. In free India, the broad geographical distribution pattern of major language groups was used as one of the decisive factors for the formation of states. This gave a new political meaning to the geographical pattern of the linguistic distribution in the country. According to the 1961 census figures, the most comprehensive data on languages collected in India, there were 187 languages spoken by different sections of our society.

In this tradition, FMPB also serves many young minds who are deprived of their right to get educated, by providing quality education and other needed things for a child. In addition to running children homes, day care centers and primary schools we also run two English Medium Schools in Gujarat and Jharkhand in the neediest districts. Thus far, 192 children have completed their 10th std and 83 have completed their 12th std. from the Jhavda school in Gujarat. Mr. Fulesh Bhai and Mr. Phoolchand Bhai, the alumni of the school, have completed their M.Sc. Biology and secured the University first and third rank respectively.

Introduction To describe and interpret the linguistic situation in Northern India1 in the second and the early first millennium B.C. is a difficult undertaking. We cannot yet read and interpret the Indus script with any degree of certainty, and we do not even know the language(s) underlying these inscriptions. Consequently, we can use only data from * archaeology, which provides, by now, a host of data; however, they are often ambiguous as to the social and, by their very nature, as to the linguistic nature of their bearers; * testimony of the Vedic texts , which are restricted, for the most part, to just one of the several groups of people that inhabited Northern India. But it is precisely the linguistic facts which often provide the only independent measure to localize and date the texts; * the testimony of the languages that have been spoken in South Asia for the past four thousand years and have left traces in the older texts. Apart from Vedic Skt., such sources are scarce for the older periods, i.e. the 2 millennia B.C. However, scholarly attention is too much focused on the early Vedic texts and on archaeology. Early Buddhist sources from the end of the first millennium B.C., as well as early Jaina sources and the Epics (with still undetermined dates of their various strata) must be compared as well, though with caution. Hedlund INTRODUCTION: This paper will focus on new Christian movements indigenous to India most of which are not well known to outsiders but are active, contextual and vibrant in witness. Indigenous Christianity which had significant growth in the twentieth century has roots in earlier attempts in Bengal, Tamil Nadu and Maharashtra. It includes the National Missionary Society and numerous other Indian initiatives. Asian incarnations of the gospel are found in historic as well as non-traditional Churches of several countries, but especially in India. Some of the independent Churches are perceived as deviant in theology or characterized by folk religious practices. Through their worship, practice and teaching many independent Churches respond to the day to day experience and grass-roots culture of the people. Theirs is a vigorous expression of Christian faith and witness of the Spirit in Asia today. HISTORIC PRECEDENCE An indigenous Church is one rooted in the culture from which it grows. Indigenous Christian movements are those which arise from within the local context. Unfortunately in India not infrequently Christianity is erroniously perceived as a foreign religion, less than Indian. The examples which follow are demonstrations of what Lamin Sannah calls “the translatability of the Gospel” as well as authentic Indian incarnations of Christian faith. “Translatability is the source of the success of Christianity across cultures.”1 The earliest example of indigenous Christianity in India is found in the St.

Many incidents starting from the death of our “Father of nation”- Mahatma Gandhi, gunshot of woman Prime minister –Indira Gandhi to the gunshot of one of the leaders of Bharatiya Janata Party - Pramod Mahajan had taken place in our country. Not only giant party leaders have passed away but also many small party leaders and ministers have expired. All these losses force us to face difficult situations in our nation. It is indeed a sad thing to know that there is no safety for our political leaders who safeguard us. Also our current generation leaders are threatened by terrorists. It is heartbreaking to know, some of our leaders names are under terrorists list. It is our supreme duty to pray for protection and good health of leaders of our Bharath nation!!! Shall we pray?? Stanley prince annan is one of the pioneer missionary of our organization. He was the youth wing secretary. Now he is sick, due to his old age. Kindly remember him in your prayers.
