Wildlife Gallery Terry Kruse: Cv Terry Kruse Wildlife Gallery Terry Kruse: cv Terry Kruse is an Alberta Artist who creates large, flowing dreamscapes, reminiscent of a fabulous garden, mountain retreat or a tropical vacation. Terry has been an artist all of her life but only started selling later in life. Her poured, no brush, abstract expressionist- styled paintings have a warmth that makes people smile, echoing what Terry’s feels while creating. Terry states: It was when I let the paint flow and blend that I am truly able to express the joy and freedom I was missing in other forms of art. Pouring helps the composition evolve in a choreography between me, the artist, and the paints. With freedom of movement comes an overall satisfaction from a disciplined aesthetic balance. Magically, I am able to create a visual texture with elements, fine lines and blending that can’t be created with a brush. Each piece is truly one of a kind, exclusive, unrepeatable, somehow living in a world of its own. New for 2021 Terry has long been an animal lover and did a large series a few years ago featuring Alberta’s wild horses. In the past few months she has added a sea turtle and a number of Grizzly and Polar bears to some of her landscapes. These animals seem to fit and bring the pieces alive. Terry’s history has been to work with texture in her wildlife and these newer pieces are unique in this as well. They create a juxtaposition between the smooth abstract landscapes and the fur texture incorporated into the landscapes. While many contemporary artists create art to make people uncomfortable, Terry prefers to share joy and finds that people express a perception of warmth and happiness when viewing her art. collections 2021 Fabio, Best Friends, Elegance, Onyx | Private collections | Calgary, AB 2020 Spring Breeze | Private collection | Okotoks, AB 2019 Hummingbird, Moonlight in Motion | Private collection | Northern Alberta 2018 Aurora Falls | Baywest Homes, Aspen Collection Showhome | Rocky View County Birds in Paradise, Transcendence, The Garden, Dinner Party, Bumblebee, Alpenglow | Private collections | Calgary, AB 2017 Stag, Rocky Mnt. • Tab 1, MVC Analysis
CITY OF CALGARY FIRE DEPARTMENT CONCERNS INTRODUCTION 1. At full build out, OMNI will detrimentally impact the Calgary Fire Department (CFD) and create a strain on The City’s Fire Response System. The strains on The City’s Fire Response System will directly impact the NE quadrant of the City, and specifically impact Station 32 and Station 38. The NE quadrant of the city is currently the busiest quadrant for emergency response services. 2. The CFD estimates that in a development of this size, there will be approximately 300 calls per year. If aid is required in the OMNI development, and CFD expects there will be a need for aid, it will drain resources otherwise committed to the busy NE quadrant. Due to the mix of uses associated with the OMNI ASP area, it is anticipated emergency calls could range from fires, critical medical calls, hazardous material events, explosions, motor vehicle collisions, and rescues. The majority of these types of calls require rapid intervention, multiple fire trucks, and a significant number of resources in order to respond and effectively address the emergency, conserve property, and protect life safety. The CFD has concerns that Rocky View County may not have enough resources and will rely on CFD for continual support. Tab 1, MVC Analysis A. INCREASED COST TO EMERGENCY SERVICES 3. As mentioned in the previous section, approximately 300 calls per year are anticipated for the CFD should the OMNI development proceed as approved by Rocky View County Council. Based on previous incidents, the total cost of these calls could reach upwards of several hundred thousand dollars per year.

  • Woodward's After Bankruptcy History
Woodward's after Bankruptcy History Charles Woodward established the first Woodward store at the corner of Main and Georgia Streets in Vancouver in 1892. On September 12, 1902, Woodward Department Stores Ltd. was incorporated, and a new store was built in Vancouver on the corner of Hastings and Abbott Streets. In 1926, a store was opened in Edmonton, and by the late 1940s, the company began to open numerous stores in both provinces. Facing financial difficulties, Woodward's was sold to the Hudson's Bay Company in 1993. Woodward's was a central feature of the retail scene especially in southwestern British Columbia for much of the twentieth century. The chain was distinctive in that the stores included a large supermarket (the "Food Floor") as an adjunct or at some locations part of the department store. When Woodward's sold the Food Floor - long known for its quality and its line of unusual specialties - to Safeway, the flagship food floor became a reduced-size IGA store until the building closed as Safeway showed no interest in that location. Many older western Canadians remember fondly Woodward's famous "$1.49 Day" sales, held the first Tuesday of every month. These sales were advertised widely on radio and in newspapers, and offered everything from canvas-top running shoes to bath oil for the one price. Most Woodward's locations were converted to HBC's Bay or Zellers stores by the end of 1993. Other major retailers took over several stores, and the remaining locations were either closed or were divided into mall retail space.
