He's traveled the hills of Italy and frequented all the rundown haunts of Main Street Winnipeg. He's also the overnight security guard at Red River's Princess Street campus. Nesca looks and sounds every bit like the tooth and nail life he's lived. Small in stature, with a scraggly beard and whiskey-rasped voice, he's earned the ap- pearance he presents. His inspiration has been the seedy dives of urban Winnipeg and the down and out vagrants who loitered there. Days and nights spent at such infamous venues as the Gordon Downtowner, Bleachers and The Oxford Hotel, produced anecdotes that were captivating and often chilling.
