LUGARES DE RIESGO .......................................................... 70 Plan de Emergencia Sanitario Local de la Unidad de Salud de San Julián 1.- INTRODUCCION Los desastres naturales es un problema de Salud Pública que en lo últimos años a cobrado gran importancia ya que los efectos que estos producen cada vez son mayores y afectan directamente las zonas mas vulnerables del país. La realización de un plan de emergencia es de gran importancia y muy necesario ya que con este se logro organizar y estar preparados para actuar en el momento en que una eventualidad de estas se presente y permita al personal de salud actuar de una manera oportuna realizando acciones orientadas que den resultados exitosos. La ciencia y la tecnología actual permiten hasta cierto punto predecir en que momento ocurrirán los desastres naturales, para poder actuar de alguna manera previniendo que las consecuencias sean mayores. Hay que tomar en cuenta también la gran migración a las áreas urbanas de los municipios, lo que hace la formación de zonas urbano marginales, en las cuales sus viviendas son de construcción inapropiada lo que las hace mes vulnerables a cualquier tipo de amenazas. Es por eso que la prevención es importante en estos casos, y la elaboración de este trabajo pretende informar a las autoridades del municipio de San Julián, así como al personal de salud, como de forma oportuna las capacitaciones y la educación disminuirán de una manera muy sustancial los efectos que los desastres ocasionan, evitando así la perdida de vidas y los daños a la salud mental que producen. La elaboración de este plan de emergencia sanitario local dará los lineamientos y pautas a seguir por el personal de salud de la Unidad de Salud Luis Poma en el momento en que la población del municipio lo necesite permitiéndonos darle a la comunidad una respuesta oportuna y de calidad. El documento contiene la descripción geográfica del municipio, los aspectos ambientales y de saneamiento básico describe las áreas que pueden ser consideradas como de riesgo en un momento determinado, se han tomado en cuenta los desastres ocurridos en años anteriores para ser tomados en cuenta 1 Plan de Emergencia Sanitario Local de la Unidad de Salud de San Julián como potenciales riesgos actuales. Contiene la organización con los diferentes actores sociales del municipio así como el proceso necesario para una intervención oportuna y adecuada, la organización comunitaria y de las diferentes comisiones que deberán actuar en un momento dado para evaluar daños y organizar a la población afectada. 2 Plan de Emergencia Sanitario

Sue Bartelette*, and Casi Lock** Lincoln University of Missouri Cooperative Extension, Native Plants Program* Independent Consultant** Abstract A delegation from Lincoln University (LU) Cooperative Extension of Missouri partic- ipated in a 12-day exchange program that included visits to communities and institutions in Central and Western El Salvador. The delegation included LU Native Plants Program (LU-NPP) staff and members of four communities in Missouri. The objectives were: 1. For the LU delega- tion to be immersed in the Salvadoran culture and learn how communities protect their resources and use native plants in their daily lives; 2. To exchange lessons learned between the LU-NPP, Salvadoran educators, producers, farmers, and communities; and 3. Identify organizations or agencies interested in forming alliances with the LU-NPP. Joint collaborative efforts between LU and organizations in El Salvador will help empower small farmers and will further advance agricultural and ecological education for low-income students in El Salvador and in Missouri. During site visits, local leaders from different agencies and community organizations and the LU delegation engaged in conversations to learn from each other’s experiences. Hodges 154 Pages This thesis examines ceramics from the church of San Pedro y San Pablo, Caluco, El Salvador, to investigate the pressures of Spanish evangelization during the Colonial Period. It compares the church’s ceramic assemblage to two privately-owned houses, also within Caluco. Examining choices in ceramic styles for serving food and drink is one way to examine the colonial policies of reducción, which were to instill a regular, commonplace Christian order in everyday life. The materials in question were a large number of Spanish majolicas, as well as 300 locally-made vessels, and form, decoration, and ware was noted for each. The relative importance of majolica versus majolica attributes on indigenous-made pottery shows that practices in the shadow of the church were distinct from those farther away.

  • 2 Junto a Los Municipios De Izalco, Armenia, San Julián Y Santa Isabel
    2 Junto a los municipios de Izalco, Armenia, San Julián y Santa Isabel Ishuatán, han conformado la Iniciativa municipal Los Izalcos. Es de hacer notar que como mancomunidad tiene un peso poblacional importante ya que alberga un 4% de la población total del país.1 Los problemas que más aquejan a estos municipios son en orden de importancia: Disposición final de los desechos sólidos, Recuperación del Medio ambiente, Educación, Infraestructura vial, Desempleo, Ordenamiento territorial y Seguridad ciudadana.2 La pobreza de la zona (40.44% de hogares pobres según la EHPM 2003), coexiste con la falta de recursos de la municipalidad, ya que aunque son muchas las iniciativas, pocas agendas se pueden realizar ya que no se cuenta con los recursos necesarios, esto puede atentar con la asociatividad de la zona. La actividad productiva predominante de la mancomunidad es la agropecuaria. En todos ellos es común el cultivo de granos básicos el que fundamentalmente se destina para el sustento familiar.
