This Month – Get Ready for “Oddtober” with CPTV and PBS Kids

Just for Kids: Arthur and the Haunted Tree House While trick-or-treating, Francine meets an old woman with a very mysterious past, while Binky finds himself at Mr. Ratburn's amazing haunted house. Muffy and Bailey decide to cut through a dark, rainy cemetery. And as for Arthur, Buster, and Ladonna, their tree house sleepover seems to be haunted… but by what? Tune in to Arthur for the premiere of this special movie event on Monday, October 23 at 3 p.m., with repeat airings on October 27, 30, and 31 at 3 p.m., or watch any time on the PBS KIDS Video App.

For You: Have a Pretend Slumber Party The Arthur and the Haunted Treehouse movie event features a sleepover. If your kids are excited about the idea of having a sleepover, but aren’t quite ready, Arthur has a daytime activity you can use to practice before you try the real thing!

Monster Madness Grab the flashlight and your favorite monster stories! PBS Kids for Parents has some monstrously good book suggestions you can use for your very own Halloween sleepover.

In addition to the Arthur and the Haunted Treehouse movie, there are new Halloween episodes from Odd Squad, Splash and Bubbles, Sesame Street, and Cyberchase. There will also be the return of the hit specials The Cat in the Hat Knows A Lot About Halloween! and Curious George: A Halloween Boo Fest. Keep an eye on CPTV Kids throughout the month for all of these fun PBS specials.

Just For You: “The Collection” Series Premiere While you are crafting your fleet of Halloween costumes, find your inspiration in the new Masterpiece series “The Collection.” A couture fashion house in post- war Paris serves as the setting for this exploration of the gritty truth behind the glamour of a rising business, spearheaded by two clashing brothers. “The Collection” airs Sundays at 10 p.m. beginning October 8 on CPTV!
