2019 ANNUAL REPORT TO THE COMMUNITY We are proud to be part of a Jewish community whose members support a broad spectrum of interests and display boundless creativity in finding new ways to sustain and secure our future. We celebrate the diversity of ideas and donors in our community by recognizing the uniqueness of every individual and group, while also realizing that we are, ultimately, stronger together. JCF’s culture of encouraging our community’s diversity is further reflected in our new mosaic- style logo, which serves as the inspiration behind this publication’s graphic design. The 12 tiles of the mosaic represent the 12 tribes of Israel and the various components of the modern Jewish community. It’s a visual guide to enlightenment, justice and – with your support – how we come together harmoniously as one community. We are deeply grateful to the hundreds of fundholders whose collective vision, passion and generosity enabled JCF to award nearly 1,200 grants this past year, totaling $4.5 million. Music therapy offers adults with intellectual disabilities a chance to sing, dance and play instruments while building their self-esteem within a friendly, inclusive environment. When the Music Therapy Program at the Jewish Association for Community Living needed more funds to meet demands, JCF rallied Donor Advised Fund holders to help. The program is so popular it is now hosted at the Mandell Jewish Community Center.
