Net profit was Baht 5.9 million higher than 2010, representing 0.10 percent increase. This is credited to MWA’s improved cost efficiency and effective cost cutting. In addition, MWA recorded higher revenue from water system business, which can substitute revenue loss from water sales income affected by changing climate. The success confirmed the efficiency of Board of Directors in governing the organization and the management and the cooperation of all employees. With outstanding success, MWA received as many as four prestigious awards from the State Enterprise Policy Office in 2011. The four awards included Outstanding Organizational Management (Honorary Award), Outstanding Directors of a State Enterprise, Outstanding Information Disclosure, and Outstanding Innovation (Merit Award – a group of individuals) awards. 2012 will be the first year of the third Metropolitan Waterworks Authority Management Strategy (2012-2016). The four awards are clear evidence of MWA’s operational excellence, professionalism and respect to good corporate governance. For example, the fast lane service “3 Jor – Jod -Jai-Jorn” (park, pay, go) allows customers to drive through a pay point to pay their water supply bills, which altogether is finished in less than one minute. MWA mobile units are sent out to allow customers to easily pay their bills or submit their applications for water supply usage or request other services.
