Berardi’s Restaurants have a long local history. The food business began for the family in 1942 at Cedar Point with Eurosia’s (Mama Berardi) recipe for fresh cut homemade French fries. The quality and simplicity behind the recipe made it a winner. Fresh sliced potatoes, fried to golden brown and seasoned with salt had park visitors standing in long lines that stretched across the midway. Many people confessed that the tasty fries were the main reason for their park visit. Eurosia’s son Albert J. Berardi joined her in the food business after he returned home from World War 2 and soon took the small business from a 10x10 primitive stand to two large production stands where he and his family served millions of orders of fries until 1978 when Cedar Point made the decision to eliminate all private concessionaires. While serving up the famous French fries at Cedar Point, the Berardi Family also served the Sandusky area in several different Berardi restaurants. There are three restaurants operating today. All of the Berardi Restaurants are privately owned and operated. Huron Berardi’s was established in 1979 by Albert J. and his wife Roseanne and is currently owned by children, Albert E. Berardi and Susan Berardi-Fawcett.
