Preliminary flood risk assessment: Council

This addendum by Darlington Borough Council (2017) updates the council’s preliminary flood risk assessment report published in 2011. Read the addendum in conjunction with the preliminary assessment report.

Addendum

The preliminary flood risk assessment (PFRA) and flood risk areas (FRAs) for Darlington Borough Council were reviewed during 2017, using all relevant current flood risk data and information.

As a consequence of that review there is no change to the assessment of risk in the Borough of Darlington since the preliminary assessment report was published in 2011.

Past flood risk No flood events have occurred since publication of the original PFRA report in 2011 that have added to or changed our understanding of significant flood risk in the Borough of Darlington.

Our current understanding of significant flood risk in the Borough of Darlington has not changed as a result of the consequences of floods that have occurred since 2011.

Future flood risk The Council has not created or received any new information on potential future floods that has added to or changed our understanding of significant flood risk in the Borough of Darlington since publication of our original PFRA report in 2011. The Council has not created or received any new information that has improved the understanding of the future impact of climate change on flood risk in the Borough of Darlington.

The Council has not created or received any new information on long term developments to improve understanding of flood risk in the Borough of Darlington. Our understanding of flood risk in the Borough of Darlington has not changed since 2011 as a result of new information on the potential consequences of future floods, the impact of climate change or long term developments.

Flood risk areas (FRAs) No FRAs have been identified for the purposes of the Flood Risk Regulations (2009) 2nd planning cycle.
