Luas Red Line Customer Notice Luas Red Line Customer Notice Luas Red Line stops from Abbey Street to The Point are closed until the end of July. Red Line services from Jervis to Tallaght and Saggart are running as normal but inbound trams will terminate at Jervis stop. A replacement bus is serving Jervis and the closed stops during this temporary closure. The bus stops are located on the Quays a short walking distance from the closed Luas stops. The inbound Bus departs from Bachelor’s Walk (close to Jervis stop) and terminates at Castleforbes Road (close to The Point stop) serving stops along The Quays. The outbound bus departs from Mayor Street Upper (close to The Point stop) terminating at Crampton Quay (close to Jervis stop) serving stops along the Quays. You don’t need a ticket for the replacement bus. You do need a valid ticket for tram services. Leap Card customers should Touch On/Off at Jervis stop. Customers who buy tickets from ticket machines should buy a ticket to/from Jervis stop. This temporary closure is necessary to facilitate Luas Cross City construction works on O’Connell Street and Marlborough Street. Thank you for your patience and cooperation during these works. For more info see www.luas.ie & www.luascrosscity.ie 1 Walking Directions Mayor Square–NCI Luas Stop to/from Replacement Bus Service Bus Stops Mayor Square-NCI Luas Stop to Bus Stop Number 7216 at Spencer Hotel, Custom House Quay via Excise Walk (240 meters) for replacement bus services to The Point Head west, in the direction of the city centre on Mayor Street Lower towards Excise Walk for approximately 15 meters. Turn left onto Excise Walk and continue straight for approximately 170 meters. It is possible for a cane user or someone with low vision who is not using a cane or a dog to follow one building line or the other though the open space. It is recommended to use the left hand side. Note that there are sandwich boards and tables and chairs present. There is a side- lane crossing on the way. This is indicated by blister surface tactile paving on each side of the crossing. Turn left onto North Wall Quay at Spencer Hotel and continue for approximately 54 meters to arrive at Bus Stop Number 7216. 2 Bus Stop Number 7397 opposite Spencer Hotel, Custom House Quay to Mayor Square-NCI Luas Stop (210 meters) Head west, in the direction of the city centre on North Wall Quay for approximately 26 meters until you reach the traffic lights just past the Spencer Hotel. There is open space on the left with occasional high, square, shiny metal pots. These end at a restaurant called the J2 Grill. There is a metal service hatch and a bamboo wall. At this point the audible signals are reasonably close and loud. After crossing the road, turn to the left and following the building on your right, find the right turn onto Excise Walk. Continue straight here for approximately 170 meters keeping to the right hand side. The space is quite open and there are tables, chairs and sandwich boards on the way. Turn right onto Mayor Street Lower and walk for approximately 15 meters to arrive at Mayor Square-NCI closed Luas Stop. 3 Replacement bus service stop, Bus Éireann Stop Number 135101, Crampton Quay (between Aston and Wellington Quay) to Jervis Luas Stop (300 meters) via Millennium Walkway Note: This pedestrianised route would probably be easiest for guide dog users. Can users may also prefer to use this route, to at least be safe from traffic; but cyclists cut through here quite a lot. The combination of open space and lots of obstacles also makes it more challenging for anyone not using a guide dog. Head west on Crampton Quay towards Wellington Quay/Millennium Bridge for approximately 72 meters. Take a right onto Millennium Bridge crossing the road at the traffic lights. Continue onto Millennium Bridge for approximately 62 meters. Once across the bridge, cross the road at the traffic lights, taking a right onto Ormond Quay, approximately 5 meters. Turn left onto Bloom Lane and continue straight for approximately 69 meters. Cross over Strand Street Great at the zebra crossing (note there are no audible signals but traffic is slow moving and infrequent on this side road) and continue onto Millennium Walkway continuing straight for approximately 87 meters. Turn right onto Abbey Street Upper and walk for approximately 17 meters to arrive at Jervis Luas Stop outbound. 4.
