Reply from Environmental Health Service to our letter with regard to dog fouling in the park and public areas in the village. The area is regularly patrolled and Enforcement Officers attended the opening of the Wee Gardens Project and provided dog bags and advice. They wish us to provide further details on exact locations, time and type of dog – this will help the officers attending the locus at the problem times. 2. E-mail to Ellenor from Cllr MacColl with response from the Head teacher, Mrs Pamela Wilson of Dunlop Primary School and ECC, to his suggestion that the recently refurbished semi-circle in Kirkland Road could be a place for the young people of the school to do something creative for the village. Mrs Wilson felt it was a good idea and she would pass the information to their ECO Committee. REPORTS POLICE The officers reported one crime over the month – a car had been vandalised (keyed paintwork) in Newmill Road. The officers also reported that they were not aware of fake £20 notes being in circulation although two had been used in the area. TREASURER The annual financial summary for 2015/16 was presented to the meeting.

This provision has not only addressed the needs and enthusiasms of those with an interest in Gaelic, it has contributed to the enrichment of the wider community and raised awareness in this area of an important aspect of our nation’s heritage and culture East Ayrshire Council is committed to working with Bòrd na Gàidhlig, our Community Planning Partners and other key stakeholders to help safeguard the Gaelic language, heritage and culture for future generations and, wherever possible, develop the use of the Gaelic language. MINUTES Minutes of the monthly meeting held on Thursday 5th October 2017 Approved – E Ferguson, Seconded – T Howie MATTERS ARISING POLICE REPORT Summary of crimes and offences from 29th September 2017 in Ward 1 Annick Anti-social behaviour Vandalism – car scratched along one side – Main Street Communications Act – threatening phone call, enquiries continue – Lugton Road Vandalism – broken window by unknown means – Kirkland Road Sergeant C Beaver from the Community Policing Team was present and listened to concerns raised regarding recent anti-social behaviour. He urged that all incidents be reported to the police. If incidents are on the rise then another action plan can be raised and officers tasked to progress any reports. Parking issues were discussed and drivers reminded that care should be taken to park responsibly around the village, e.g. at the railway station or near junctions. Visibility can also be poor at Merito corner due to parked cars. The possibility of a traffic speed strip on Stewarton Road near Merito was discussed. Sergeant Beaver will check criteria and advise at the next community council meeting. Road conditions and history of collisions were discussed with particular reference to the A735 exiting the village towards Stewarton.
