The very best thing for you to do is to go to the Berlin city transport website (http://www.fahrinfo-berlin.de/ Fahrinfo/bin/query.bin/en) and use the interactive map. Click on your start airport or station (Tegel or Schonefeld, Hauptbahnhof etc) and then destination Rahnsdorf and you'll get the quickest and easiest routes through to Rahnsdorf. But here is a guide of how to get there:

From Tegel - buy a 1 journey ticket for A, B & C from the machine outside the front of the airport - about €3.00 and catch the TXL bus from the same place. Get off at Beusselstrasse and take the ring S-bahn to Ostkreuz. From Ostkreuz the S3 to Rahnsdorf. Allow 90 minutes to get to Woltersdorf.

From Schonefeld - take the S9 to Ostkreuz and change there onto the S3 (direction Erkner) and go as far as Rahnsdorf. But you really should check online as there are several alternatives to this which may save some time.

From Hauptbahnhof - If you are travelling into Berlin by train then from the Hauptbahnhof take the S75 to Ostkreutz and then take the S3 (direction Erkner) as far as Rahnsdorf.

From Rahnsdorf get off the train, come out of the front of the station and directly opposite the door is a small tram station with the world's smallest and oldest tram. This is your transport to Woltersdorf! Stay on this until you get to Blumenstrasse stop - get off here walk up the hill in the same direction and take the first turn left into Parkstrasse - you'll see a big orange building on the right. Come upstairs to reception on the next floor up.

If it’s getting late or you are in a hurry… Twice each hour there are Regional Express Trains from the City Centre (Hauptbahnhof & Alexanderplatz) to Erkner, leaving Hauptbahnhof every hour at 00.21 and 00.51. It takes 33 minutes to get to Erkner station. There are normally taxis waiting there and it will cost around €7 to get to the conference centre at the address above. This is about 30 minutes quicker than the S- Bahn and Tram. If there’s no taxi try 00 49 3362 5151 which is a local taxi company. If you take a taxi, make sure you show the driver the postcode (15569 Woltersdorf) otherwise you might end up in the wrong place!
