Can you imagine any politician having the guts to say this todayi ...Not even so-called Catholic politicians.. .In 1782, the United States Congress voted this resolution: "The Congress of the United States recommends and approves the Holy Bible for use in all the schools." My friends, today the Congress is recommending the complete opposite of the Gospel values. James Madison, the primary author of the Constitution, said this: "We have staked the whole future of our new nation not upon the power of government, far from it. We have staked it on the moral principles of the 10 Commandments." ...Today, we ask God to bless America. But how can He bless a nation that has departed so far from Him? My friends, let us here set the example that we support our nation as our Founding Fathers and Mothers envisioned it...Not one removed from God, but one that relies completely on God .. .If we as Christians don't do this, then who will? ... For the solution is not going to be found in government, but in changed hearts. For what made America great in the first place are the very things we have abandoned.. .In short, we need to evangelize ... make Christ present to a wounded culture ... to make Christ the beating heart of America once again.
