It’s an exciting time to be on board at Seton High School! There is such a true sense of pride, spirit and energy throughout the school by our dedicated teachers and staff, high-achieving students, loyal Seton families and friends as well as throughout the community by our amazing alumnae.

Each of us would not be who we are without the love, prayers and immeasurable support of the Sisters of Charity. Every student grows in faith, experiences life lessons and gains an incredible education during their four years here, and that is largely due to the Sisters of Charity who have made an impact on the lives of Every student grows every Seton . This past year, S. Teresa Dutcher retired from 39 years of service “ at Seton. She is the last Sister of Charity to teach here. She, along with the in faith, experiences hundreds of other Sisters, have served as teachers, administrators and staff members, and we are honored to have many that continue to serve as board life lessons and gains members, committee members and volunteers. Construction Update

The 2019-2020 school year began with $7 MILLION in upgrades and renovations that took place over 12 weeks! THANK YOU to everyone who has donated through Seton 360! These upgrades took place on the first floor and ground floor and included HVAC, new windows, new lighting and restrooms. Also included was the highly-anticipated $2 million renovation to Seton’s cafeteria and courtyard space, thanks to very generous, anonymous donors. We are so excited about our new, beautiful, state-of-the-art Halo Café! Construction began in April of 2019, and students returned after summer break to this incredible space. The new cafeteria and student center boasts a coffee shop, a broad range of dining options, new furniture, energy-efficient lights, new windows and HVAC. The new courtyard will be complete in mid fall 2019 and will include outdoor dining, gathering spaces, a water feature and a spiritual garden. “Seton’s generous donors are dedicated to providing students with the best possible amenities to foster learning, leadership, team building and the overall spirit of the Seton sisterhood,” said Seton High School President Kathy Allen Ciarla. “It is evident how much our donors and community value the importance of a Seton education, and we are so incredibly thankful for their dedication and generosity.” THANK YOU! $12,875,000 RAISED

10 Seton Magazine Margaret Berndsen Calme Scholarship argaret Berndsen Calme had just finished her junior year at Seton in 1942 when her mother fell Mvery ill and needed someone at home to care for her. It was during the Great Depression and money was tight. So Margaret was therefore never able to return for her senior year. “This was hard for her as education was very important to her,” said Maureen Calme Bill ’68, who is one of Margaret’s three daughters. “She often spoke of the regret Margaret she felt about not being a Seton grad.” Berndsen Calme This experience was the reason that it was a priority for Margaret to have her daughters attend and graduate from Seton. Alumnae Spotlight Lindsey Lanzillotta ’15 Lindsey Lanzillotta ’15 was just a toddler when Disney’s Buzz Lightyear coined the popular phrase, “To infinity and beyond!” And while Toy Story will forever be a part of her generation, so will the fact that young women are embracing more and more Lindsey Lanzillotta ’15 opportunities in STEM research and careers. Lindsey is proudly part of a team that is going where ‘no (wo)man has gone before’ in regards to cell research and exploration through her current co-op with NASA. Now entering her fifth year as a Biomedical Engineering major through the University of Cincinnati’s College of Engineering and Applied Science, she has some impressive experiences added to her résumé. In her current co-op, she is a 2019 intern at NASA Ames Research in California’s Silicon Valley.
