MILESTONES REACHED: • Patrice Bergeron’s assist on the game’s first was his 793rd career point, tying Wayne Cashman for sixth place on the Bruins’ all-time scoring list.

SHUTOUT FACTS: • Tuukka Rask made 20 saves tonight for his third of the season and 44th of his NHL career. • It is the Bruins’ eighth shutout over the Devils and their first since Niklas Svedberg earned a 3-0 victory on Jan. 8, 2015.

PENALTY SHOT: • Brad Marchand was awarded a shot at 7:16 of the first period (no goal) ... It was his seventh career penalty shot and he is now four for seven on those attempts. • It was the second career penalty shot faced by New Jersey’s Mackenzie Blackwood, who allowed a goal by Columbus’ Cam Atkinson on Dec. 20 of this season.
