This 2-Day training provides insight into Dr. King’s ‘Pilgrimage to ’ and his ‘World House’ perspective, as well as interactive sessions on JANUARY his Six Principles of Nonviolence and Six Steps of Nonviolence. The 2-Day training engages participants in discussing introductory Dr. King readings and teachings, including ‘Letter from Birmingham Jail’ and ‘Drum Major Instinct.’ It is a critical step in 11 understanding how nonviolence can prepare people 2019 across the globe to embrace nonviolence as a lifestyle and as a vehicle for social change.

Students with King gives students the opportunity to hear personal and interesting stories about the life of Dr. and Mrs. King, including the choices, decisions JANUARY and experiences that shaped their development as young people and led to them becoming global leaders. Students from public, private and charter schools participate in this youth initiative that’s offered to elementary, middle and high school students 16 throughout the school year at no cost to the students or 2019 schools.

JANUARY The King Center will conduct a service project in partnership with Hands on Atlanta, Accenture, the Mission Continues and the Atlanta Super Bowl Host Committee on the King Center’s campus. We will be assembling and collecting “Activity Kits” for youth ages 13 – 18 who are 21 patients of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. You 2019 can participate in three ways: 1) Make a monetary contribution ($250.00 to help create 50 Activity Kits) 2) Collect and drop-off items to be included in the Activity Kits 3) Drop-off Activity Kits already assembled.

The King Center will continue the campaign on the 2019 King Holiday and throughout the year. Our goal is to provide the roadmap and tools necessary for individuals and communities to have the challenging and courageous conversations to bridge the racial divide in America by addressing the pains and unrest of racism rooted in a historical context.
