A very heartfelt thank you to the teachers who donated “VIP” time. Our school is what it is because of you! Thanks to the room parents, classroom volunteers and students for their hard work on the class projects and grade donations.

Tonight you can useuse your passport to experience the excitement and energy of an evening in Italy enjoying great company, delicious food, spectacular auction items, a little dancing and an opportunity to support our school. It has all the makingsmak ings of a fabulous evening.

I want to thank Amy Beaty, Katie McLaughlin, and Nicole Titus, our chairpersons, for the hours of hard work they have put into tonight’s gala. They have been joined by many others who have also spent time to ensure that thithiss night is extra special. We are very grateful to tthosehose who have donated our auction items. Thank you.

General Auction Rules and Procedures

CheckCheck----InInInIn All attendees need to check-in prior to bidding on any auction items or taking a seat in the dining room. Upon check-in, you will be given your pre-assigned table number and bidder number. You will need this number for the remainder of the evening for bidding on silent and live auction items. You will also receive a meal ticket to indicate to your food server which entrée you have pre- selected.

Silent Auction Each silent auction item will have a bid sheet with a minimum start bid indicated at the top of the bid sheet. There will also be a minimum bid increment listed on the bid sheet, which indicates the necessary bid increase for each successive bid. You may bid higher than the minimum bid increment listed. You bid on an item by writing your name and assigned bid number on the bid sheet with the dollar amount you wish to bid. Each bid is to be written on the next successive blank line on the bid sheet beginning with the uppermost line. Once you have placed your bid, please step back to allow others the opportunity to bid. Silent auction items will begin to close at 6:30PM according to the schedule printed in the program. All bidders will be alerted in advance of each table closing. All bidding must stop at the time of announced closing. The highest bid at the closing time constitutes the winning bid. In the event of a dispute, the auction chairs will have the sole and final authority to determine the winning bidder.

**Class Project Live “BLITZ” Auction** This year the Kindergarten through 4 th grade class projects will be auctioned off in a live “BLITZ” auction that will take plat at 6:00. This auction will take approximately 15 to 20 minutes and will take place on the outside patio, so be prepared! We will start off with the Kindergarten classes first and work our way up to 4 th . We ask that you clear the area as soon as your class projects have been auctioned off to allow more room for the other parents who are still waiting to bid. The 5 th grade class projects will remain as part of the live auction after dinner.

SignSign----UpUp Events These are parties/events with a set per-person price that bidders will simply sign-up for by writing their name(s) and bid number on the sheet. Space may be limited. Winning bidders are responsible for being aware of all specific conditions. No refunds.

Raffle We have two raffles this year:

PICK ANY LIVE ITEM RAFFLE ($50 per raffle ticket) Tickets will be available for sale the night of the auction if you have not already purchased tickets. The auctioneer will draw the winning ticket and will announce the winner right before the live auction starts. The winner will be able to pick one (1) live auction item before the live auction starts.

PASSPORT TO ITALY RAFFLE ($20 per raffle ticket) This raffle is for the iPad, iPhone, Instant Wine Cellar and Overnight Stay in Monterey. Tickets will be available for sale the night of the auction if you have not already purchased tickets. The auctioneer will draw four tickets out of the raffle box and announce the winners during dinner. The first ticket drawn will be for the iPad. The second ticket drawn will be for the iPhone. The third ticket drawn will be for the Instant Wine Cellar and the last ticket drawn will be for the Overnight Stay in Monterey. No trading of items allowed (unless coordinated with the other respective winner.)

Live AAuctionuction The auctioneer will announce/describe each live auction item. The auctioneer will then begin the bidding process. Bidders will hold up their bid number to signify their bid. The highest bidder, identified by their bid number and acknowledged by the auctioneer, will be the winner. The auctioneer will have the final authority to determine the winning bidder. This acknowledgement constitutes a binding contract to buy. All sales are final. There are no refunds.

CheckCheck----OutOut Check-out opens at 10:00PM. All items are to be paid in full and collected by 11:00PM on the night of the auction. To pay for your auction item(s), please choose one of the following forms of payment: Personal or business checks made payable to “John Swett PTA,” Visa or MasterCard or cash. Values stated are estimates only and are not for tax purposes or general value. Payments made are tax deductible as allowed by law. Availability of items described in the catalog may change auction day. ALL SALES ARE FINAL and all items are SOLD AS IS.IS.IS.

All winning bids made during the event will be tallied and totaled by assigned bid number. The winning bidder is responsible for collecting their items by 11:00PM on the night of the auction. All unclaimed items will be available in the office on Monday morning. Many items have specific conditions such as time limitations, exclusions, availability, etc. Winning bidders are responsible for being aware of all specific conditions. It is the auction committee’s intent to accurately describe all auction items based on the information provided by the contributor. Ms. Fischer Item: 152 Don't miss out bidding on these hot, new modern mixed media paintings straight from Ms. Fischer's class! Mrs. Djajakusuma Item: 153 Mrs. Djajakusuma's class has created not one, not two, but three flowerpot masterpieces! These works of art are adorned with the children's names and fingerprints drawn into flowers, bees, frogs, and caterpillars. To top it off, the work has already been done for you - planted inside of each flowerpot is an assortment of herbs, providing you with a beautiful and useful herb garden.

Mrs. Briscoe Item: 154 Ever wonder how children see themselves? Mrs. Briscoe’s class has made a beautiful quilt filled with self-portraits drawn by each one of the students. Each child took the time to draw and decorate their own individual square, put all together it makes a breath taking quilt that Briscoe’s busy bees have put their hearts into. This is a great purchase full of 1st grade memories!

Mrs. Gallagher Item: 155 What is cuter than your child’s thumb print made into cute lil’ animal shapes? “Nothing,” you say? Well, picture your child’s thumb print animals on a tiled table. Now that’s as cute as it gets. Bring this adorable table home! Table is wrought iron and will be a welcome addition to your home or patio area.

Mrs. Cerri Item: 156 It is with great pleasure Mrs. Cerri's students present a beautiful Mandarin citrus tree set in a handcrafted redwood planter box on wheels. Adorned with hand-painted student tiles, this gift will complement the simplest or grandest of yards. Home delivery is available after the auction!

Mrs. Kent Item: 157 Mrs. Kent’s third grade students have created a piece of art like no other. On a 24” x 36” canvas the students worked together to paint a 5 square by 3 square grid. Each of the 15 squares were painted in a warm earth tone by one of the students in class. After each square was painted, students added a unique stencil stamp to each square to create a subtly colorful work of art that will look great in any room in your house.

Mrs. Kolb Item: 158 "Don't put your drink on that table! Use a coaster.” This year one lucky parent from Mrs. Kolb's class will win a set of custom drink coasters with the student’s picture or thumb print on them. The coaster set will come with a bottle of wine, glasses and drink charms.

Mrs. Alderman Item: 159 With the assistance of Mrs. Alderman’s artistic flare, her fourth grade class created a beautiful reproduction of Pablo Picasso’s “Hands with Flowers.” In a framed 16” x 20” painting Mrs. Alderman sketched the hands and the stems of the bouquet while each student added their finger print. The result is a timeless and colorful bouquet of our children, their friends, and amazing memories from a remarkable fourth grade year.

Mrs. Roque Item: 160 Each of the students shared their artistic hearts using traditional watercolor paint over watercolor pencils. Each of the hearts is crafted into a magnet and used in a collage mounted on a 30” x 30” piece of metal. Not only is this a gorgeous piece of art to be hung proudly in your home and a reminder of the 4th grade year, but it is also interactive. You can move the magnets around to your liking!

Fourth Grade Friendship Tree Item: 161 Value: Priceless! Mrs. Alderman’s and Mrs. Roque’s fourth grade classes have come together to create a very special grade level project. This generous donation was designed by Mrs. Alderman and donated by both Mrs. Alderman and Mrs. Roque. This unique piece of art is a framed print of a branch filled tree, containing thumb print blossoms of all the fourth grade classmates at J.S.E.
