2015 NACRA 17 AND 470 CLASS NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS

NOTICE OF RACE

1 RULES 1.1 The regatta will be governed by the rules as defined in The Racing Rules of 2013 - 2016.

1.2 The New Zealand Safety Regulations Part 1, shall apply. 1.3 Nacra 17 One Design Class rules will apply. 470 Association Rules will apply.

2 ADVERTISING 2.1 Competitor advertising will be restricted as follows: ISAF Regulation 20.

3 ELIGIBILITY AND ENTRY 3.1 The regatta is open to all boats of the 470 and Nacra 17 classes.

3.2 To be eligible to compete in this event each crew member shall be a financial member of a club recognised by YNZ and also a member of their National Class Association.

4.2 Other fees: Late entry $20 additional

5 SCHEDULE

5.1 Registration: Saturday 21 February From: 8am To: 9am 5.2 Dates of racing: Saturday 21 February Sunday 22 February Classes: 470 and Nacra 17

5.3 Number of races: 10 maximum for series Up to 5 per day (maybe sailed back to back)

5.4 The scheduled time of the warning signal for first race each day is 10am.

5.5 On Sunday 22nd February no warning signal will be made after 1700 hours.

6 MEASUREMENTS Each boat shall produce a valid measurement certificate I

7 SAILING INSTRUCTIONS The sailing instructions will be available at 8am on 21 February at Wakatere Boating Club

8 VENUE 8.1 The regatta will be based at Wakatere Boating Club

9 THE COURSES The courses to be sailed will be as follows: trapezoid or windward / leeward.

10 PENALTY SYSTEM 10.1 For the Nacra 17 class, rule 44.1 is changed so that the Two- Turns Penalty is replaced by the One-Turn Penalty. 10.2 Decisions of the protest committee will be final as provided in rule 70.5.

11 SCORING 11.1 The scoring system is as follows: Appendix A

11.2 5 races are required to be completed to constitute a series. 11.3 (a) When fewer than 5 races have been completed, a boat’s series score will be the total of her race scores. (b) When from 5 to 10 races have been completed, a boat’s series score will be the total of her race scores excluding her worst score.

12 SUPPORT BOATS The movement of support boats will be restricted by the Race Officer.

13 LAUNCHING Unless otherwise directed by the Organising Authority, all competing boats and equipment shall be launched and retrieved

14 PRIZES Prizes will be given as follows: The winner of each Class will be the 2015 NZ National Champions and receive the NZ National Class Association Trophy.

International sailors are welcome, however will not be eligible to win the NZ National titles.

15 DISCLAIMER OF LIABILITY Competitors participate in the regatta entirely at their own risk. Decision to Race. See rule 4. The organizing authority will not accept any liability for material damage or personal injury or death sustained in conjunction with or prior to, during, or after the regatta.
