The City of Miami spent millions on the demolition of the Convention Center and the landscaping of the new park. The future plans include hoists and a floating launch ramp off the seawall. SWC Miami is the first event to use the new park and there will undoubtedly be some growing pains. For the period of Jan 4-13, training is on your own. We will not have restrooms or security, so leaving your belongings there is at your own risk. We have arranged to share the Seminole Boat Ramp with the general public. There will be three parking spaces at the ramp reserved for dollies. Do not leave your dolly in the middle of the ramp; they must be removed to the storage area. Please show mutual respect for other boaters using the ramp. We will also have some container deliveries during this period. Cars, boats, and trailers may not be stored in the ramp parking area (Lot 71) during this period. Beginning Jan 14 through Jan 31, we have exclusive use of Seminole Boat Ramp and Regatta Park. There will be fencing, security, restrooms, and rinse-down stations. We plan to store the Nacras (along with necessary trailers) overnight in the Boat Ramp parking area. 49ers and 49er FXs will stay overnight in Regatta Park. Rules: 1. Only registered boats on dollies are allowed in the large grassy area of Regatta Park. Absolutely No vehicles and No road trailers. 2. Littering will not be tolerated. This includes bits of tape, bits of line, and other trash. 3. Boats shall be stored in assigned places. 4. Fees are due in advance. 5. No overnight camping in the park or parking lots. 6. Coach boats shall be moored only in the designated areas. 7. All boats, trailers, dollies must be removed by 5 pm Monday, Feb 1st. .

Upon my election last November, I outlined my intention for World Sailing to communicate better with its Member National Authorities, Regional Associations, Class Associations, Committee members, and the hard-working volunteers that make our sport work, from the grassroots to the peak of performance. I hope that the introduction of these quarterly newsletters will help to achieve that. Open communication within our sport has always been important, but given the current climate, it is more crucial now than it has ever been. It is important that World Sailing takes the lead by sharing best practice, forming new ideas and creating inspiring content that touches all aspects of our sport. It is also vital that this material is well distributed across our community. It is a pity that we have not been able to meet face to face for so long, but I have enjoyed meeting and engaging with you directly and via our Regional Meetings. It is important that our dialogue works two ways so we can work together to grow the beautiful sport we all love.
