Summary SLOVENIA: The first press conference was held along with the SUMP presentation of Municipality of Ljutomer. The project in general was presented and also the linkages between SUMP and Workplace mobility plan of the municipality have been mentioned. The conference was very well attended by the media representatives and spread the news to the wider public. The second press conference was organized along to the regional conference of the sustainable mobility. The conference was held one hour before the event. We stressed out the importance of the workplace mobility plans in the region of Pomurje. Therefore, we decided to share our knowledge to other stakeholders to be able to prepare the WMP themselves. The third press conference was organised after the workplace mobility plan was developed and the bike shed – the pilot action was implemented. This conference was filled with many project results which reflects a good project implementation. AUSTRIA: Press conference 1: At the 24th April 2018 we arranged a press conference in Baden for the MOVECIT project. At the press conference mayor Stefan Szirucsek, vice mayor Helga Krimser as well as the coordinator of the department energy and climate in Baden Gerfried Koch and project coordinator of Climate Alliance Austria Natalie Weiß sat on the podium. Representatives of the Badner Zeitung and NÖN Baden took part in the press conference. The main focus of the press conference in Baden was “Mobility & workplace – potentials and plans for Baden”. The project MOVECIT was the main issue of the press conference. Details and the aim of the project were given as well as the information of the inclusion of other project partners in other cities of European countries. Furthermore, details about the project process in Baden were talked about. One important point was the emerging result for Baden. The mobilityplan was introduced to the press, how it was created and who was participating. Details of the first survey were pointed out. The main issue was that one third of the employees of the municipality commute less than 5km every day and that this was an important starting point for the project MOVECIT to make the way to work more sustainable. Different measures which will be implanted during the MOVECIT project were pointed. Not only constructional measures but also awareness-raising measures were pointed out as very important. Press conference 2: At the 17th Mai 2018 a press conference for the project MOVECIT was organised in Mödling. The focus was “Soft mobility. Mödling starts with the employees of the municipality”. The mayor of Mödling Hans Stefan Hintner and vice mayor Gerhard Wannenmacher as well as Climate Alliance Austria talked about the project MOVECIT in Mödling. A video team of Mödling attended the press conference and made a video clip. At the press conference the aims of the project as well as details about the partners of other cities were given. Furthermore, Mr. Hintner gave details about the project and the implementation in Mödling. At the same day one measure, a bike service for employees of the municipality was realized. Page 3 HUNGARY: Press conference 1: In the framework of MOVECIT project the first thematic seminar on mobility in Hungary was organized by Budapest University of Technology and Economics (BME), where transportation professionals, experts, researchers and practitioners attended the event. The main topic of the seminar was sustainability mobility, where several aspects of sustainability were discussed, such as mobility developments trough projects, the connection of energy supply and transportation, costs of transportation and urban productivity, practical experience with SUMPs and sustainable mobility management for bikes. In the program there was the press conference listed. Although we have invited the press, there was a lack of interest. Press conference 2: In the framework of MOVECIT project the second thematic seminar on mobility in Hungary was organized by Budapest University of Technology and Economics (BME). The main expected effect was to gather an interested and motivated community, who would gain a better understanding of sustainable mobility. Based on the feedback of the participants in general the presentations were informative and they have gained some new knowledge, which they may use in their future work. For the further sustainability seminars, a demand appeared that there should be more examples and best practices. During the thematic seminar one of the main radio channels in Hungary broadcasted a live interview, where we have informed the audience about the workplace mobility planning process and possible innovative measures. Press conference 3: In the framework of MOVECIT project we have organized an infoday together with the Conference on Transport Sciences Győr 2019. On both days of the conference we have contacted several participants and talked with them about the project. In the conference program a presentation of MOVECIT project was included, where we have talked about the elaborated method, the workplace mobility plans, the suggested measures, the campaign action and the pilot. The media was invited, and the local press appeared, who had a short interview with the representative of MOVECIT project. SLOVAKIA: The press conference was held on 27. April 2019 in occasion of Openning the Cyclo Season 2019 in Banská Bystrica city and its region. The event was organised by City of Banská Bystrica, City of Zvolen, OCI BB and Ekopolis Foundation. The main trail was from Banská Bystrica and Zvolen to Vlkanová. For participants the great programme was prepared (competitions for children, the raffle, e-bike tests) in the finish point in Vlkanová, and Peter Medveď, the Director of Ekopolis Foundation had a presentation about the Pilot Action and Bike Shelter in Basnká Bystrica’s Railway station. Also he made a public survey about people’s opinion and future usage of the Shelter and Bike point. CZECH REPUBLIC: The first press conference was held along with training for the municipality of Litoměřice (D.T2.3.2). This training as well as the conference was focused on mobility management in the municipality of Litoměřice. The main topics was how is the workplace mobility plan bound to the town’s transport policy. Methodology of the Workplace Mobility Plans for the Municipal Office and the Hospital of Litoměřice was Page 4 introduced as well as the results of the first travel survey done in April 2016. The training contained also a workshop on public transportation, cycling and parking, which was possible to access by the journalists as well. The second press conference dealt mostly with the results of the Household mobility survey which was done in Litoměřice for it’s SUMP. Along with these results some planned measures of the workplace mobility plans were introduced. This press conference was held also accompanied by an event which was focused on electromobility, which is one of the town’s main focus in a matter of mobility. The Municipality purchased 10 e-bikes and 4 charging stations which were introduced during this press conference. The third press conference was organised as part of the Urban Mobility Academy conference in Třebíč. This two-day conference was focused on municipalities and their representatives, mostly from office employees. • Introduction
Introduction 1 Prekmurje Slovene among the Slavic languages There is reason to think of Prekmurje Slovene as a dialect of Slovene as well as a separate language. Indeed it has carried through many of the innovations that are characteristic of Slovene, shares most core vocabulary and grammat- ical structure, and from this perspective is part of a broader dialect group of the Pannonian group of Slovene dialects, together with the Slovenske gorice, Prlekija, and Haloze dialects, which in turn share a number of characteristics that differ from the rest of Slovene as well as neighboring Kajkavian dialects in Croatia (see Ramovš 1935, 171–193 for details). In favor of Prekmurje Slovene as a language1 is its written tradition, as it has been used for several centuries in a loosely standardized form, largely, but not exclusively, as a liturgical lan- guage. From a diachronic perspective, the Prekmurje dialect offers a glimpse at a linguistic code that came into being through heterogeneous processes. As pertains to all of South Slavic, its population migrated westward from the core Slavic area in today’s Ukraine in the second half of the first millennium AD. The founder population of Prekmurje Slovene (together with the Pannonian dialects) spoke a variety of Slavic that was already structurally different from that spoken in its neighboring areas to the west in today’s Slovenia as well as to the south in the Kajkavian-speaking region of Croatia. The affinity of the founder population is no longer fully recoverable, but some intriguing evidence pointing to this possibility may be found in today’s central Russia and central Bulgaria (Schallert and Greenberg 2007).

University of Nova Gorica Laboratory for Environmental Research Vipavska 13, POB 301 5001 Nova Gorica, Slovenia Project: Transeconet IDENTITIES AND STRATEGIES – RAISING AWARNESS WP6.1 Report Perception of Landscape Changes Authors: Gregor Torkar and Romina Rodela Nova Gorica, 2011 Abstract: This report aims to map out local peoples’ perception of landscape changes in the Pomurje region. To this end it reports on the historical and recent perception of landscape change, on the main processes driving landscape changes, but also it reports on people perceptions about Pomurje as a cross-border area, and on knowledge people have about the ecological networks. Qualitative data informs us that a combination of geomorphologic, socioeconomic, cultural, and historic factors have shaped the Pomurje landscape and have influenced land use patterns in the region. As from respondents’ narratives the emergence of agricultural modernization and policy trends, present in the country after the World War II, appear to have most influenced the landscape and the rural lifestyle in Pomurje. Of a particular relevance are the impacts that the state border (its closure/openness) had on local development dynamics. Key words: ecological networks, perception of landscape change, landscape, Pomurje region Povzetek: V poro čilu predstavljamo, kako lokalni prebivalci Pomurske regije zaznavajo spremembe v kulturni krajini.

  • The Circumflex Advancement in Prekmurje Slovenian and Bednja
The circumflex advancement in Prekmurje Slovenian and Bednja Kajkavian∗ Gaˇsper Beguˇs Harvard University [email protected] IWoBA IX, Juraj Dobrila University, Pula, Croatia 19-21 September 2013 1 Introduction The circumflex advancement is, according to Rigler (1986), one of the rare Common Slovenian (Comm. Slov.) phenomena and can be employed for distinguishing Slovenian from Kajkavian. The advancement is usually dated after the loss of the weak jers (Ramovˇs1995), which is shown by examples such as Comm. Slov. nom. sg. noh“at for PSl. *n‚ogt~ vs. Comm. Slov. gen. sg. noht“a for PSl. *n‚ogti.1 This chronology, however, has recently been questioned by Greenberg (1992, 1993), where it is proposed that the weak jers were still preserved at the time of advancement, at least in the Prekmurje dialect. Moreover, Greenberg (1992, 1993) claims that no advancement occurs if the a weak jer follows. The basis for such an assumption comes from the discussion of Bednja (Bed.) Kajkavian in Vermeer (1979), where the rule for non-advancement of the circumflex before a weak jer has first been observed and described. Vermeer (1979) thus proposes a rule for Bednja local dialect whereby the old circumflex is not advanced if jers in weak position immediately followed, e.g. Bed. n“aobrol2 < PSl. *n“a-b~ral, z“aozvol < *s‚-zval vs. peˇc“al < *p‚o-ˇce˛l, zop“er < *z“a-p~rl (examples from Jedvaj 1956). Greenberg (1992, 1993) claims the same rule for the Prekmurje (Pkm.) dialect as well. It is true that in Prekmurje the circumflex in l-participles is not advanced if jers followed, e.g.
