This letter is provided for information only and does not require any action by you. The plan and further information regarding the mandate of the Office, including the Auditor General Act, can be viewed on our website at www.bcauditor.com/about. The Auditor General Act requires that, each year, the Auditor General prepare a Financial Statement Audit Coverage Plan outlining the approach to the audit of the Province’s Summary Financial Statements. This also includes our involvement in the audits of all government organizations and trust funds for the following three fiscal years. The Legislative Assembly’s Select Standing Committee on Public Accounts has approved the coverage plan for the three years ending March 31, 2016, and has thereby confirmed that the financial statements of School District No. 42 (Maple Ridge-Pitt Meadows) will be audited

    PEACE RIVER REGIONAL DISTRICT South Peace Fringe Area Official Community Plan Bylaw No. 2048, 2012 Peace River Regional District Bylaw No. 2048, 2012 A bylaw to adopt an Official Community Plan for the South Peace Fringe Area to help guide future development WHEREAS Section 876 of the Local Government Act authorizes a local government to adopt an Official Community Plan to guide decisions of the Peace River Regional District on planning and land use management issues; AND WHEREAS the Regional Board has provided one or more opportunities for consultation with persons, organizations and authorities it considers affected in the development of the Official Community Plan in accordance with Section 879 of the Local Government Act; AND WHEREAS the goals reflect the resident visions relating to their community, economy and environment; AND WHEREAS the Regional Board has consulted with the Electoral Area Representatives of the Regional District; AND WHEREAS the Regional Board in accordance with Section 882 of the Local Government Act, has considered the Plan in conjunction with its capital expenditure program, solid waste management plan and has referred the Plan to the Provincial Agricultural Land Commission; AND WHEREAS in accordance with Section 875 of the Local Government Act, this Official Community Plan works towards achieving the purpose and goals referred to in Section 849 of the Local Government Act, as applicable within the Official Community Plan; NOW THEREFORE the Regional Board of the Peace River Regional District in open meeting assembled enacts as follows: 1. Hearing from UBCM directly on some of its key interests and issues was very much appreciated. As Minister Osborne and President Frenkel said during the calls, these calls continue to be a great opportunity to hear from you about the key issues and opportunities you are working on in your communities for 2021 (in addition to COVID-19). There were a number of themes that came up during the calls including connectivity, reopening of BC parks in the spring and roll out of vaccine distribution. This email sets out links and resources on some of the topics raised. As well, on specific issues such as grant applications or questions particular to your community, please remember that your staff can reach out to Ministry of Municipal Affairs staff for assistance (see the Local Government Division staff finder for the appropriate staff person for your area). COVID-19 update The state of emergency is extended to March 2, allowing health and emergency management officials to continue to use extraordinary powers under the Emergency Program Act. On February 5th, Minister Dix and Dr. Henry announced that the province-wide restrictions, put in place to significantly reduce COVID-19 transmission related to social interactions and travel, would continue until further notice based on direction from the PHO.

    Hello If you wish to help BC veterinarians address the shortage of veterinarians, you may wish to write your local MLA and ask them to support and increase to the number of BC students trained as veterinarians. Below is a sample email for you to send to your local MLA. You can also add to the email or replace it with your own. After the sample email, on page 2 and 3, is a list of all MLA email addresses to help you to find your MLA contact information. Should you wish to learn more about the shortage of veterinarians and the need for additional BC students to be trained as veterinarians, please scroll down to page 4 to read our summary document. Your help is greatly appreciated! Dear MLA, I wish to add my name to the list of British Columbians who find the shortage of veterinarians in BC unacceptable. We understand that BC can add an additional 20 BC student seats to BC’s regional veterinary college, but that the government declined to do so, citing costs. In the interest of animal health and welfare issues including relief from suffering and unnecessary death, public health, and biosecurity for BC, we ask you to ask the Minister of Advanced Education Anne Kang to fund an additional 20 BC seats at WCVM effective immediately. As a BC resident, I want my voice added as an individual who cares about the health and welfare of animals and who wishes the government to provide funding to help alleviate the shortage of veterinarians in BC.

We appreciate that the 6-year agreement will bring a considerable measure of stability to our public education system.     New Stacker Reclaimer Project Public Engagement Summary Report September 2012 1.0 Project Overview As part of ongoing upgrades and modernization of terminal infrastructure, Neptune Terminals is continually making strategic investments to iproe the terial’s steelaking coal handling operations. Neptune Terminals has announced that, it will be installing a new stacker reclaimer replacing an older, smaller unit currently in use. This new equipment will be installed within the terial’s eistig footprint and will allow the terminal to improve efficiency and operating flexibility by simultaneously moving steel-making coal from trains to the stockpiles and directly from stockpiles onto vessels. The e staker relaier ill further ehae Neptue’s eiroetal easures ith a est-in-class dust suppression system. 2.0 Notification & Outcomes In May 2011, Neptune Terminals publicly announced a $63.5 million dollar investment in their steel- making coal operations. The largest component of this announcement was the purchase of a $45 million stacker reclaimer, to be built in British Columbia. In November 2011, Neptune Terminals and Ramsay Machine Works announced the new equipment would be built at the Ramsey yard in Sidney, B.C. The Government of British Columbia celebrated the announcement with Neptune and Ramsey. Then Minister of Transportation and Infrastructure, Blair Lekstrom participated in the media event, local MLA Murray Coell was quoted in the news release and Victoria based Minister Ida Chong and Minister Naomi Yamamoto from North Vancouver also attended the announcement. The media coverage surrounding both releases focused on the economic investment and job creation for North Vancouver and Sidney, making note of BC manufacturing and the increased capacity that would result from the stacker reclaimer project.
