Kegiatan produksi ayam goreng kalasan secara umum dilakukan oleh seluruh home industry yang melibatkan pekerja terdiri dari beberapa proses yaitu pencucian ayam, pembuatan bumbu, penataan ayam dalam wajan untuk proses pengungkepan, pembuatan sambal, pengemasan sayur lalapan, dan penggorengan kremes serta ayam. Dalam rangkaian proses tersebut, berdasarkan pengamatan awal pada 25 home industry, 84% home industry menyatakan signifikansi waktu proses kegiatan menggoreng sedangkan 16% home industry menyatakan signifikansi waktu proses kegiatan mencuci ayam. Berdasarkan keluhan pekerja pada sentra tersebut maka kegiatan menggoreng merupakan kegiatan yang membutuhkan waktu proses terlama. Perhitungan waktu proses dilakukan untuk membutikan secara kuantitatif bahwa kegiatan menggoreng memiliki waktu proses yang lama.
