Last night we captured two important special election victories.

In Wisconsin, Tom Tiffany decisively won the 7th district to replace Sean Duffy. In California, former fighter pilot Mike Garcia flipped a California congressional seat from D to R for the first time since 1998.

After Katie Hill resigned in disgrace, no one gave us a chance to win CA-25. In 2016, Hillary Clinton won the district by 7 points and just 18 months ago, Hill won by 9 points.

According to the media pundits, it could not be done. But as we said at the ELC retreat in March, we never back down from a fight.

Let me be very clear: If we can win in CA-25, we can win back the House. And just as we did last night, we will prove all the naysayers wrong.

We will run the same playbook in November that Democrats ran so well against the GOP in 2018: Exploiting the legislative records of our opponents with our diverse field of candidates.

This is exactly what we did in CA-25.

Mike Garcia’s entire campaign was focused on his career as a Hispanic businessman and former fighter pilot who flew combat missions in Iraq. Meanwhile, we hammered his opponent, Assemblywoman Christy Smith, as a Sacramento politician and her voting record of raising her own pay and firing teachers.

Over the next six months, we will replicate this playbook across the country.

House Republicans have diverse, talented candidates and we will work together to make it known that all of these freshman Democrats who ran as moderates immediately rolled over for the socialist agenda of Nancy Pelosi.

But to replicate the success of CA-25, we need the resources to compete.

We do not need to match Democrats dollar for dollar, but as we saw in CA-25, if our candidates have the resources, we have the message to win.

So I urge you all to keep your foot on the gas, meet your NRCC assessment, and keep holding the socialist Democrats accountable so we can take back the majority.
