FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE April 16, 2018 Contact: Zack Czajkowski 919-636-1911; [email protected] Katie Hill for Congress Emerges As Top Fundraiser in CA-25 CANYON COUNTRY, CA – For the second consecutive quarter, Katie Hill outraised all other candidates in the CA-25 race, raising more than $420,000 in the first quarter of 2018. Hill has emerged as the top Democratic fundraiser in the race, raising nearly $1.1 million dollars. With her most successful quarter since announcing her candidacy, more than 9,800 individual contributions and more than 5,100 individual donors, Katie Hill’s campaign continues to gain momentum as we approach the June primary. "I am grateful for the more than 5,000 people who have invested in our campaign since I first announced my candidacy. Each and every day, I hear from people in our community who demand more than politics as usual; demand that someone who personally understands their concerns and struggles represent them in Congress," said Hill. "I am humbled to have the confidence of thousands from across the 25th District and I will fight every single day to ensure their voices are heard in Washington.” Katie Hill for Congress Campaign Manager Zack Czajkowski said, “These fundraising reports reveal two things: 1) Katie Hill is building an unprecedented grassroots movement in California’s 25th congressional district and 2) Westside attorney Bryan Caforio is relying on loans from himself and more PAC money than any other Democrat in this race. Despite both his press announcement not to take PAC money this election and the millions that Caforio received in PAC support in his last failed bid for this seat, Caforio is demonstrating a hypocrisy that is not welcome in the community he has recently moved into. The last thing we need is more politicians like Caforio who will put their own political career ahead of the people who live here. Katie Hill is going to win this election because she is from this district, knows the values of this district and will be the kind of Democrat our community deserves.” In addition to having her most successful fundraising quarter and being the top Democratic fundraiser in the race, Hill remains the only Democrat in the race with support from Members of Congress. In the California Congressional delegation, Hill has received endorsements from Congresswoman Nanette Barragan, Congressman Jimmy Gomez, Congresswoman Judy Chu and Congresswoman Jackie Speier. Additional support for Katie Hill for Congress includes: Congresswoman Lois Frankel, Congresswoman Lois Capps (frm.), State Senator Henry Stern, State Senator Ben Allen, State Senator Hannah Beth Jackson, State Senator Fran Pavley (frm.), Assemblywoman Laura Friedman, Assemblywoman Jacqui Irwin, Assemblywoman Monique Limon, LA County Supervisor Sheila Kuehl, LA City Councilman Mike Bonin, LA City Councilman Paul Koretz, Assembly Candidate and Newhall School Board Member Christy Smith, Planned Parenthood Action Fund, EMILY’s List, California NOW, NARAL Pro-Choice America, Victory Fund, Equality California and Stonewall Democratic Club. ### The daughter of a police officer and a registered nurse, Katie Hill is a lifelong resident of the 25th Congressional District. Most recently, Katie served as Executive Director of People Assisting the Homeless (PATH), the largest homeless services organization in California. Under Katie’s leadership, in just four years PATH helped more than 1,800 chronically homeless individuals, 2,100 veterans, and 2,600 families make it into permanent housing. Katie attended public schools in the 25th District and holds a BA and Master’s from Cal State University Northridge. Katie lives with her husband on a small farm in Agua Dulce.
