SDCC 2018: Marvel, Star Wars & Other Comic-Con Inspired Dishes & Drinks Debut in the Gaslamp Quarter By Christina Bravo

San Diego Comic-Con 2018 is upon us and soon, the streets of Downtown San Diego will be flooded with locals and out-of-towners alike donning their best.

And while those superheroes may be able to leap tall buildings in a single bound and take out the most evil of villains, the restaurants of the Gaslamp Quarter know they also get hungry.

Here are some pop-culture inspired dishes and drinks coming to downtown San Diego's eateries for SDCC 2018.

A special Donut Bar pop-up can be found in The Pendry Hotel at the corner of J and Fifth streets in the Gaslamp Quarter during SDCC. The Donut Bar says they will dish out special pop-culture themed donuts starting at 7 a.m. Thursday and Friday.

Searsucker San Diego

Searsucker is planning a lineup of cocktails inspired by top-notch superheroes like the Star-Lord, made with Pimm's #1, basil and lemon or the Black Panther, made with Maker's Mark bourbon, blackberries, mint and lemon. There is also a mezcal cocktail inspired by The and a Black Widow sangria.

Your favorite Star Wars characters are coming to Sally's Fish House at the Manchester Grand Hyatt -- in cocktail form, at least. The Luke Skywalker, made with Malibu Rum and pineapple, The Princess Leia, made with Stoli blueberry vodka, muddled mint and lime, the C3PO, a tequila-based drink, and the Darth Maul, made with cucumber vodka and Bloody Mary mix, will all be available through the convention.

The US Grant Hotel held the first San Diego Comic-Con in 1970, so it's only natural the hotel would join in the festivities. The Grant Grill, located inside the hotel across from Westfield Horton Plaza on Broadway, has a series of cocktails inspired by Dr. Strange's ally, Brother Voodoo.
