Grading: 25% Class Discussion 10% Class Presentations 25% Written Assignments 40% Examinations Scale: A = 90-100, B = 80-89, C = 70-79, D = 60-69, F = below 60. Class presentations are required by each student. Each presentation will consist of a lecture by the student, supported by a paper to be given to each student and the instructor before the presentation. Discussion by the entire class will follow each presentation, and this information will used in examinations to follow. Written assignments will be given regularly. Late written assignments will be penalized a letter grade per class period. Attendance will be taken for each class. Not more than 4 absences will be permitted, at which time a failing grade will apply. Permission not to take a test at the appointed time must be requested in advance. (Acceptable reasons: serious medical problem or unforeseeable emergency) Tests will cover the assigned readings and the background lectures. You will only be responsible for material presented in class or send by e-mai.
