Meeting room with all facilities, lunch and dinner as well as accommodation will be arranged in the same hut. We will be guests of the Corpo Nazionale Soccorso Alpino e Speleologico CNSAS, the Italian Mountain and Cave Rescue Service. On Thursday and Friday we will mainly focus on our papers “Medical training of first responders in mountain rescue”, “Statement on an ‘ideal’ air rescue service in terms of integration between the services involved”, “Initial assessment of casualties in the mountains”, “Splinting: KED, C-collars, spine board, SAM, vacuum mattress”, “A Modular First Aid Kit for Alpinists, Mountain Guides and Alpinist Physicians (update)”. On Saturday we will start for some hiking or rock climbing in the Grigna mountains close to the hut. Bring your walking boots and climbing gear. To all first-authors of our papers and other presentations: please bring with you a Word-formatted text on a diskette for digital presentation plus about 20 hard copies. A projector and computer with USB port will be available. If you have any additional workshop or case report, bring all materials and papers for short presentations and discussions. Please send me the topic of your presentation via E-mail some weeks in advance. PLEASE NOTICE THAT WE’LL COMMENCE ON THURSDAY APRIL 24 AT 8:30 A.M., SO PLEASE TRY TO BE IN THE HUT “LA MONTANINA” ON WEDNESDAY 23. Please notice that invitations are sent by e-mail. After the bridge over the river “Adda” take exit "Valsassina". At the end of the motorway, go straight ahead to “Ballabio”. Just behind the tunnel you will find a roundabout; go ahead and follow direction "Piani Resinelli". 2 – From Bergamo Coming from the North-east of Italy take the motorway A4 (Venice – Milan) towards Milan. Take the exit ‘Bergamo’ and follow the by-pass of Bergamo towards Lecco. When you come to Lecco follow direction to “Valsassina”. Near the hospital called “Ospedale Manzoni” take the tunnel to “Valsassina” that brings you directly to Ballabio. Just behind the tunnel you will find a roundabout; go straight ahead and follow direction "Piani Resinelli". 3 – From Switzerland Lugano – Maloja Pass Driving from Lugano to Italy you’ll reach Chiasso after the border. Take exit “Como Sud” and follow the signs to Lecco. Take the country road (not the motorway) for about 25 km and then the motorway towards Lecco. After the bridge over the river “Adda” take exit "Valsassina". At the end of the motor- way, go straight ahead to “Ballabio”. Just behind the tunnel you will find a roundabout; go ahead and follow direction "Piani Resinelli". From Maloja Pass follow “Milano – Lecco” to Lecco, then “Valsassina” or “Ballabio” and “Piani Resinelli”. 4 – From Airport Milano / Bergamo The nearest airports are Milan Linate or Milan Malpensa and Bergamo Orio al Serio. Take a train if you don’t hire a car. 1) Milan airports: take the shuttle bus or a taxi to Milan’s railway station “Milano Centrale” or “Milano Porta Garibaldi” where a train leaves every hour to Lecco-Sondrio-Tirano. 2) From Bergamo Orio al Serio: take a shuttle bus to the railway station of Bergamo (departure every 30 min). Tell me your arrival time at Lecco, so I will provide transport with my car from Lecco (may be also from Bergamo) to Resinelli (☺). Casa alpina ‘La Montanina’ It is a big hut.     MJB – Manzoni Junior Band – Lecco As early as the 1970s, the Manzoni presidency had become aware of the fact that only by cultivating new talents, the future of the band could be ensured. Over time, musical teaching was initially entrusted to the most expert musicians and to the section heads who, under the supervision of the Maestro, instructed the young students; later real and proper classes of strumento were structured and entrusted to graduated professors. In the 1980s, Manzoni made an agreement with the “Zelioli” Civic School of Music in Lecco for the training of clarinetists, flutists and saxophonists, but this experience did not have the desired results. Likewise, in the early 1990s, Manzoni supported the establishment of the small band at the “Tommaso Grossi” middle School in via Ghislanzoni, with the loan of some musical instruments. After the first dazzling results, the strip broke up also following an overall reorganization of the didactic and musical paths among the schools of the city. On the other hand, the subsequent experience with the “Stoppani” Middle School was positive: the marked musical sensitivity of the headmaster Eugenio Ripamonti, combined with the tenacity of professor Annita Viganò (literature teacher at Stoppani and secretary of Manzoni for many years), allowed the startup of an experimental afternoon course for clarinets. In addition to the positive conduct of the lessons, the three- year period, covered by the agreement, allowed to establish excellent bonds with the valuable music teachers of that school, thanks to which interesting collaborations are still possible today for the brass, flute and percussion sections.

Oltre il fiume possiamo osservare la parete di rocciosa dove si trova la palestra di roccia e oltre il sottopasso PIC.5 (ciclabile-valsassina/pic/5_big.JPG), in zona Cademartori sulla destra vediamo sullo sperone la madonna che veglia sulla vallata. Al piccolo parcheggio teniamo la destra PIC.6 (ciclabile-valsassina/pic/6_big.JPG) e dopo un’ampia curva a sinistra troviamo dinnanzi a noi le caratteristiche cascate di Sprizzotolo PIC.7 (ciclabile- valsassina/pic/7_big.JPG), sicuramente qualche foto ci scappa prima di ripartire lungo la via che corre dentro un rado boschetto. Scavalchiamo il fiume su ponte pedonale e poco dopo lo riattraversiamo su un altro ponte stradale (ponte di Barcone ) PIC.8 (ciclabile-valsassina/pic/8_big.JPG), svoltiamo a destra PIC.9 (ciclabile- valsassina/pic/9_big.JPG) e riprendiamo la ciclabile PIC.10 (ciclabile-valsassina/pic/10_big.JPG) che in lieve discesa corre rettilinea e giunge nel paese di Primaluna . Arriviamo in località ponte di Primaluna ad un bar chiamato Chiosquito PIC.11 (ciclabile- valsassina/pic/11_big.JPG) e attraversata la strada poco sopra a destra possiamo rifornirci di acqua fresca alla fontana.

This publication aims to provide the visitor with interest- ing ways to discover the collections in the Lecco Museum System, which counts a total of 30 museums to date. The aim is also to lead the visitor to extend their visit to the area itself with all its heritage sites and multifaceted beauty so that it becomes the real museum to explore. We have created a virtuous network of itineraries which allow local or tourist to visit the area and enjoy the landscape and natural surroundings with an increased awareness of the historic, artistic and architectural heritage. SIMPLe Ways are ten tourist itineraries exploring the Lecco branch of Lake Como, Valsassina, Val San Martino and Brianza, worthwhile destinations for visitors to the area who want to immerse themselves in the spectacular natural surroundings which still bear traces of the local heritage, at times until recently forgotten and only now rebuilt or restored.

Sulle cinque municipalità che idealmente abbiamo collocato in questa macro area Ballabio e Pescate si sono dichiarate contrarie alla fusione, mentre il piccolo comune di Morterone, ai piedi del Resegone, non ha escluso l’idea di fondersi con una realtà più vasta quale quella di Lecco; favorevole anche il dirimpettaio comune di Malgrate. Chi ci sta? ) Nel dettaglio le posizioni dei rispettivi sindaci: BALLABIO (4.082 abitanti) – Alessandra Consonni (No): “La fusione dei Comuni è, apparentemente, una soluzione vantaggiosa che, all’atto pratico, comporta un prezzo altissimo: la cancellazione di realtà che, in molti, casi vantano una storia antica di molti secoli, spesso millenni. Fusioni indiscriminate tra Comuni calpestano cultura e identità, ovvero quei fattori che contribuiscono in maniera decisiva a formare e consolidare il senso di appartenenza ad una comunità. Dal punto di vista del risparmio, appare risibile tagliare i pochi miseri gettoni di presenza dei consiglieri o il modesto compenso di sindaci e assessori, quando il governo romano brucia cifre astronomiche per mantenere soggetti stranieri spediti, magari, in quegli stessi comuni in cui si vorrebbe “economizzare” sopprimendo la rappresentanza politica. Cancellare i municipi fa parte del progetto di globalizzazione portato avanti con le varie politiche che mirano alla soppressione delle identità locali. D’altro canto, credo che sia utile e virtuoso mettere in comune, potenziandoli, servizi tra realtà contigue: a Ballabio lo stiamo facendo e, a breve, conto di poter fornire importanti novità al riguardo.

    Per il tuo logo qui: bacheca@ paolo-sonja.net www.paolo-sonja.net/bike Giro della Valsassina Ballabio (675m) - Lecco (200m) – Bellano – Taceno (440m) - Ballabio Note: Giro classico e molto frequentato, abbina un bel tratto di lago alla salita in Valsassina che poi percorre quasi per intero, sclusa l’estremità di Taceno-Premana. Con l’apertura della nuova strada in galleria Lecco-Ballabio, ora anche la vecchia strada lecco-Ballabio è godibile. Naturalmente il giro è anche percorribile in senso inverso, con salita media un po’ più elevata. Percorso: Da Ballabio scendere a Lecco per la vecchia provinciale. Giunti al Lago proseguire in direzione Mandello-Colico, tratto questo molto traffiicato perchè in comune con la SS38 della Valtellina. Uscire dalla statale per Abbadia Lariana-Mandello e proseguire sul lungolago fino al centro di Bellano, dove comincia la salita per Taceno in Valsassina. Come alternativa, al termine di Bellano un’altra bella salita, un poco più lunga, conduce a Vendrogno, da cui si scende brevemente a Taceno. A Taceno proseguire a destra passando Cortenova, oltre il quale, in località Prato San Pietro sul ponte del fiume Pioverna, parte una bella pista ciclabile che conduce fino a Introbio. Si può naturalmente giungere a Introbio anche sulla strada provinciale, quindi la piana di pasturo e infine la salita denominata della “fula” porta al Colle di Balisio da cui brevemente a Ballabio. Variante da Vendrogno: da Bellano anzichè andare direttamente a Taceno è possibile salire fino a Vendrogno (731m), e da questo scendere per la ripida strada che lo collega con Taceno. Si aggiungono così solo un paio di km ma 250m di dislivello.
