Now, you can explore this fascinating area, experience its rich culture and delve into its captivating folklore in comfort and style with ScandinavianRail. Our vast selection of rail passes and complementary products make traveling easy and hassle-free and, best of all, you won’t have to break the bank to do it. From the mighty fjords of Norway to the breathtaking natural parks of Sweden, you can experience it all with ScandinavianRail! Going Green The fact is, your choice of transportation greatly affects the environment. All mechanized modes oftransport, especially planes, emit large amounts of Carbon Dioxide (CO2), which is one of the leading green house gases that damage the Earth’s climate. Railways understand the need to do their part in helping protect the environment and are committed to ensuring they remain one of the greenest forms of transportation! Environmental Initiatives of the Scandinavian Railways: • In order to improve the energy efficiencies of their trains, Scandinavian rail providers areimplementing new technology called Regenerative Braking. This new innovation transforms approximately 20% of the energy trains dissipate when braking back into re-usable energy. • New trains are now built with lighter materials, so less energy is expended when bringing them into motion. • The heating and lighting in the carriages are now regulated when parked. • SJ, Sweden’s main railway, uses only renewable ‘green’ energy from hydropower for its trains. With your help, we can all make a difference. Travel Greener with ScandinavianRail!
