The Tension Between Illusion and Reality in H. Ibsen's the Wild Duck
Global Journal of HUMAN-SOCIAL SCIENCE: A Arts & Humanities - Psychology Volume 19 Issue 8 Version 1.0 Year 2019 Type: Double Blind Peer Reviewed International Research Journal Publisher: Global Journals Online ISSN: 2249-460x & Print ISSN: 0975-587X The Tension between Illusion and Reality in H. Ibsen’s The Wild Duck By Dr. Mahmoud Nayef Baroud Islamic University of Gaza Abstract- Much of contemporary criticism of Ibsen plays has examined one of two concerns: Ibsen and Feminism, or Ibsen as a realist and a pioneer of modern theatre and drama. Articles on the first matter are often critical of universalizing readings of Ibsen that would have the dramatist concerned with the ills of humanity; articles on the latter theme tend to rejoice Ibsen’s assumed anti-theatrical overcoming of melodrama. Both topics can be found in his masterpiece The Wild Duck which is more honoured and received well in the study more than the other plays. Like Hamlet, The Wild Duck can be interpreted by each one in his own image; one day it will be read as a tragedy or tragicomedy, the next as the harshest irony; parts of it are clumsy, in other parts are embedded old controversies of that time. So searching yet so delicate is the touch, that these flaws and notions seem in themselves to strengthen the play. In this work, Ibsen perfected his own special power to infuse the particular, dull, limited fact with a halo and a glory. This paper is an attempt to examine the tension between illusion and reality in the play. -

Measuring the Inaccurate: Causes and Consequences of Train Delays
Summary: Measuring the inaccurate: Causes and consequences of train delays TØI Report 1459/2015 Author(s): Askill Harkjerr Halse, Vegard Østli and Marit Killi Oslo 2015, 71 pages Norwegian language In this report, we argue that the rich available data on train performance and railway infrastructure should be used to get precise measurements of economic relationships in railway management. As one such exercise, we first show how temporary speed reductions on railway links caused by low infrastructure quality affects running time and delays for Norwegian freight trains. Even though each speed reduction only adds about 44-50 seconds to running time, speed reductions still contribute to delay at the destination. Secondly, we show that delays has a negative effect on demand for passenger and freight trains services. The corresponding demand elasticity is lower than the one implied by willingness-to-pay studies, consistent with evidence from Great Britain. In is widely acknowledged in the transportation economics literature that more reliable transport time constitutes an economic benefit. In the presence of unreliability, individuals and firms adjust by taking costly measures like departing early or keeping a safety stock of goods. The ‘cost’ of train delays is therefore the foregone benefits that could have been achieved if all trains were running on time. Much of the existing literature on railway punctuality is based on optimization and/or simulation, calling for more empirical studies. In the innovation project PRESIS, funded by the Research Council of Norway and the Norwegian National Rail Administration, we have developed methods to survey reliability in the Norwegian rail sector. -

Norway Drammen Lindum
Norway, Drammen Drammen Lindum The Drammen biogas plant is located close to the Drammen fjord and collects sewage sludge from municipalities around Drammen, together with some grease and septic waste. Lindum’s main objectives at the Drammen plant were to generate biogas and produce safe biosolids. To achieve these goals, a Cambi thermal hydrolysis system was installed as pre-treatment before anaerobic digestion. Incoming primary sludge is initially dewatered to approximately 25% dry solids, then pumped sequentially into the pulper and heated with steam recycled from the process. It is then pumped into high-pressure reactors, where hydrolysis at high temperature (160˚C) and pressure (5-6 bar) occurs. Due to thermal hydrolysis, the biosolids are pasteurized and can be used on agricultural lands. The biosolids product is highly sought after because it is affordable and can replace artificial fertilizers. The plant produces large amounts of biogas that go through an upgrade system to be used as compressed biogas for public transport in rural areas. The plant was completed in the spring of 2012 and has since been operating every day, 24 hours a day. Lindum Group has operations in large parts of eastern Norway and parts of western and southern Norway. Research and Innovation Strategy for Møre Og Romsdal 2016-2020
A manifest partner Research and Innovation Strategy for Møre og Romsdal 2016-2020 Research and innovation strategy 2016-2020 2 FOREWORD Foreword The region of Møre og Romsdal is currently in a period of change. The regional authority has therefore developed a research and innovation strategy to meet the challenges faced by businesses in the region. This strategy has been compiled by applying the "Smart Specialisation" method, in which the interaction between businesses, research groups and the public support system is a central aspect. The region of Møre og Romsdal has been awarded a place on a European Commission study together with sev- eral other regions in Europe, and the study involving Møre og Romsdal comprises part of the knowledge platform on which the new strategy has been based. The fact that our region has been studied and assessed by external parties eliminates any reservations that our new strategy has been based on myths and theories that cannot be documented. The analyses that were part of the study provided us with excellent guidelines in terms of both content and process for the strategy, and these have broadly been followed in the strategy process. The strategy document shows us what our target areas must be if we are to ensure competitive businesses for the future. These are in principle as follows: • A general need for change and a higher rate of inno- vation within businesses. • A reduction in petroleum-related activities with con- sequences for large parts of the maritime industry. • The green shift and its requirements on sustainability and reduced environmental impact. -
