Mycosphere 10(1), 310–489, Doi 10.5943/mycosphere/10/1/7 Abstract Leotiomycetes is regarded as the inoperculate class of discomycetes within the phylum Ascomycota. Taxa are mainly characterized by asci with a simple pore blueing in Melzer’s reagent, although some taxa have lost this character. The monophyly of this class has been verified in several recent molecular studies. However, circumscription of the orders, families and generic level delimitation are still unsettled. This paper provides a modified backbone tree for the class Leotiomycetes based on phylogenetic analysis of combined ITS, LSU, SSU, TEF, and RPB2 loci. In the phylogenetic analysis, Leotiomycetes separates into 19 clades, which can be recognized as orders and order-level clades.

These include the uplands of the Clees, Stiperstones and Long Mynd with their associated heath land, forested land such as the Forest of Wyre and the Mortimer Forest, the lowland bogs and meres in the north of the county, and agricultural land scattered with small woodlands and copses. This diversity makes Shropshire unique. The Shropshire Fungus Group has been in existence for 18 years. (Inaugural meeting 6th December 1992. The aim was to produce a fungus flora for the county. This aim has not yet been realised for a number of reasons, chief amongst these are manpower and cost. The group has however collected many records by trawling the archives, contributions from interested individuals/groups, and by field meetings. It is these records that are published here. The first Shropshire checklist was published in 1997. Many more records have now been added and nearly 40,000 of these have now been added to the national British Mycological Society’s database, the Fungus Record Database for Britain and Ireland (FRDBI). During this ten year period molecular biology, i.e. DNA analysis has been applied to fungal classification.

It is characterized by long apothecial hairs and salmon pink discs. Molecular phylogenetic analyses supported the novelty of the fungus. We additionally reported the overlooked morphology of hyphal mats, conidiogenous cells produced directly from ascospores, and conidia. With the addition of M. longipilum, now six species of Microstoma are documented in Japan. Keywords: ITS-5.8S, mycobiota, new species, phylogeny The genus Microstoma Bernstein (Sarcoscyphaceae, Pezizales) is characterized by long stipes, white-hairy receptacles, orange to red discs, gelatinized ectal excipulum and ascospores with smooth surfaces (Otani, 1980). Seven species have been differentiated in the genus: M. aggregatum Otani, M. apiculosporum Yei Z. Wang, M. camerunense Douanla-Meli, M. floccosum (Sacc.) Raitv., M. macrosporum (Y. Otani) Y.

Austropezia clade Pezizellaceae (Han Clade 3) Thursday, 14 June 2018 5:40 PM Austropezia is amongst a macroscopically enigmatic group of New Zealand specimens that belong phylogenetically in Han et al. (2014) Clade 3 (Fig 1). The analyses of Johnston et al. (2019) and Ekanayaka et al. (2019) support Baral & Rämä (2015) in showing that Han Clade 3 forms a monophyletic clade separate to Pezizellaceae s.s. Han Clade 3 as yet has no formal family name. Han Clade 3 was included as part of Pezizellaceae by Baral (in Jaklitsch et al. 2016), Johnston et al. (2019), and Ekanayaka et al. (2019). Ekanayaka et al. (2019) split Hamatocanthoscyphaceae from Pezizellaceae sensu Johnston et al. (2019). Han Clade 2 is equivalent to the Pezizellaceae clade containing the type species of Calycina, C. herbarum (GenBank JN033407 ex KUS F52362), and is here treated as Pezizellaceae sensu stricto. Note that the type species of Pezizella, P. sordida, is accepted as a synonym of Calycina vulgaris (fide Species Fungorum), and based on GenBank data this species also belongs in Pezizellaceae s.s. (GenBank records for several genes ex TAAM 137756a). Based on an ITS analysis (Fig. 2), Han Clade 3 includes the type species of Austropezia, Calycellina, Rodwayella, Rubropezicula, Scleropezicula, and Zymochalara. Note that specimens identified as the type species of Rodwayella (R. sessilis, Han Clade 3) is phylogentically distinct from 'Rodwayella' citrinula, placed in Clade 9 by Han et al. (2014). Several of the New Zealand taxa in Han Clade 3 have their immature apothecia covered by a clypeus-like layer, the mature apothecia erumpent through several irregular splits across the covering layer, while several other taxa have apothecia surrounded by a well-developed layer of subiculum-like hyphae (but phylogenetically distinct from Arachnopezizaceae).

In total we recorded 164 species of which 131 represent the first records for Serbia. The paper includes a list of all the collected leotiomycetous fungi, except order Erysiphales, on Mt Fruška Gora, with data of localities, collection dates, host plants, as well as data from the literature concerning all species that have so far been reported from Serbia. The whole number of recorded species from the class Leotiomycetes in Serbia is 342, including the species from the order Erysiphales (104). Key words: Ascomycota, Leotiomycetes, Serbia INTRODUCTION Fruška Gora Mountain is located between 45 0' and 45 15' N and between 16 37' and 18 01' E. It extends between the Danube and Sava rivers (Miljković 1975). This mountain, located in the south of the Pan- 2 SAVIĆ, D., KARAMAN, M.: LEOTIOMYCETES CHECKLIST OF MT FRUŠKA GORA nonian Plain, has a length of about 80 km, and a maximum width of 15 km, with the highest peak, Crveni Čot, at 539 m.

It grows on fronds of Among the 424 known marine ascomycetous fungi, there Fucales (Phaeophyceae) that are washed ashore and lie are only nine non-lichenized discomycetous species in decaying at the high tide mark or further up on the beach. the genera Dactylospora Körb., Gloniella Sacc., Lachnum It is one of the few described marine discomycetes. In Retz., Laetinaevia Nannf., Patellaria Fr. and Vibrissea Fr. the current generic concept it is regarded as a member (Suetrong and Jones 2006, Jones et al. 2009, Pang et al. of Naevioideae (Dermateaceae or Mollisiaceae), while it 2014). The number of marine non-lichenized discomy- has previously been placed in the genus Orbilia (Orbili- cetes is low compared to the number of non-lichenized aceae). We studied fresh collections, in live and dead discomycetes in the terrestrial environment (including state, to provide a morphological update on the species freshwater habitats) where these fungi thrive with > 5000 and to elucidate its systematic placement using molecu- species estimated (Baral, in Jaklitsch et al.
