1.o INTRODUCTION

1.1 The purpose of this memo is to keep Committee Members informed of the above.

2.0 BACKGROUND

2.1 Tender documents were prepared to carry out the re-roofing of existing tile or slate roofs with concrete tiles. Guttering and fascias are to be renewed at the same time.

2.2 The funding for this work is contained within the Housing Capital Programme (HRA) 2002/2003 and 2003/2004 under the Major Repairs - Defective Pitched Roof Programme.

3.0 PROPOSALS/CONSIDERATIONS

3.1 The tender documents were issued to six Contractors all of whom submitted Tenders as follows:-

3.3 The lowest three offers have been checked and errors corrected in accordance with the Tender Documents.

3.4 After checking the lowest offer remained that submitted by Helforn Ltd, in the amount of &319,702.73

3.5 The project costs arising are as follows:-

4.0 RECOMMENDATION

The Committee is asked to note that in accordance with the delegations given to the Director of Administration, this project is being progressed for acceptance, after consultation with the Convenor. Final Confirmation on the project progress will be given at the meeting.
