Invitation to quote Lanarkshire Reminiscence Resources Project Purpose: To research and develop reminiscence resources for carers to borrow freely from libraries, and for voluntary groups, NHS and other professionals to use. Format: Packs of photographs, A4 in size, with an image on one side and information for users on the other ,including details of the photograph (date, location, associated people and a narrative where appropriate etc.) and prompts for users in the form of questions. Each pack would also have an introduction card with ideas for using the cards. Additionally each pack would be made available as a PDF for download from a partner website. Number of images in each pack: There would be a minimum of 20 images per pack. The main timeline would be 1950s, 60s and 70s but for future proofing, supplementary 1980s/90s images if available should be included. Number of original packs: One for each locality (10 in total) One for each over-arching Lanarkshire theme (15 in total) Tasks for the freelancer Work with public resources in North and South Lanarkshire (and other resources physical and digital as appropriate) to research and source images for each pack, acquiring and providing evidence of full image rights for every image for the purposes outlined above. Deliver packs ready for design and print as edited, correctly sized, labelled and formatted images. Text will be edited, including any permission credits and logos, appropriately filed and labelled. All work must be supplied to CultureNL Ltd in an agreed useable digital format and as a printed paper copy. Additionally permissions and image rights must be made available in printed format. CultureNL will arrange the print and design of the packs; this cost is separate to this budget. Costs for obtaining image rights, is also separate to this budget. Locations: North Lanarkshire Community Health Partnership is split into the following localities: Airdrie, Bellshill, Coatbridge, Cumbernauld, Motherwell and Wishaw. It covers the same geographical area as North Lanarkshire Council taking in a population of approximately 326,360. South Lanarkshire Community Health Partnership is split into the following localities: Clydesdale East Kilbride; Hamilton/Blantyre; and Rutherglen/Cambuslang. It covers the same geographical area as South Lanarkshire Council taking in a population of approximately 311,880. The first stage of the project would be on places and locations in the ten localities: Airdrie Clydesdale Bellshill East Kilbride Coatbridge Hamilton/Blantyre Cumbernauld Rutherglen/Cambuslang Motherwell Wishaw Where available also source maps for each locality old and new. And the other towns and villages in each locality including, but not exclusively, and where photographs are available such as: Wishaw: Overtown, Cleland, Newmains, Allanton, Shotts, Salsburgh, Bonkle, Kirk o Shotts Motherwell: Newarthill, Carfin, Holytown Bellshill: Viewpark, Uddingston Airdrie: Chapelhall, Calderbank, Plains, Caldercruix Coatbridge: Gartcosh, Glenmavis, Glenboig, Stepps Stepps, Chryston, Moodiesburn Cumbernauld: Kilsyth, Banton Clydesdale: Biggar, Carluke, Lanark, Lesmahagow; Carnwath, Coalburn, Douglas, Forth, East Kilbride: Strathaven, Chapelton. Glassford Hamilton/Blantyre: Quarter, Chatelherault/Fernigair, Bothwell, Uddingston Rutherglen/Cambuslang Themes for each could include: Schools, shops and pubs, civic buildings, community events (gala days, parades etc), churches, landmarks (factories, coal mines, sports grounds, fountains, bridges etc), houses/streets, parks and outdoor spaces. Additionally, scans of ephemera –tickets, programmes, postcards could be included. Important local or national events which assist with a theme could be included such as photographs of objects eg bricks for Glenboig, newspaper articles for important local events the closure of Ravenscraig or the winning of the Scottish Cup. The second stage is additional over-arching Lanarkshire themes for general packs: Dancehalls and going out Homelife Cinemas Transport Sport (speedway, bowls, cricket, rugby, Working life (can be broken down into tennis, golf, football) industries if applicable) Pubs Note: these themes are not exhaustive School/childhood and may change during the course of Shopping research.
