Chapter 6 Worlds in Collision The Reconquista and the Crusades
Conflicts over territory broke out between the Muslims and Christians. Christian warriors drove the Moors from their territories in Spain. The Islamic Seljuk Turks began conquering lands in Asia, threatening Constantinople. The pope urged nobles to recapture the Holy Land from the Turks, which began the First Crusade.
