E-mail: [email protected] / [email protected] Abstract In waters of the Northwestern Atlantic pelagic tunicates may contribute significantly to the plankton biomass; however, the regional information on the salp fauna is scarce and limited to restricted sectors. In the Caribbean Sea (CS) and the Gulf of Mexico (GOM) the composition of the salpid fauna is still poorly known and this group remains among the less studied zooplankton taxa in the Northwestern Tropical Atlantic. A revised checklist of the salp species recorded in the North At- lantic (NA, 0–40° N) is provided herein, including new information from the Western Caribbean. Zooplankton samples were collected during two cruises (March 2006, January 2007) within a depth range of 0–941 m. A total of 14 species were recorded in our samples, including new records for the CS and GOM area (Cyclosalpa bakeri Ritter 1905), for the CS (Cy- closalpa affinis (Chamisso, 1819)), and for the Western Caribbean (Salpa maxima Forskål, 1774). -

Brooksia lacromae sp. nov. is described from zooplankton material collected at a marine monitoring station in the South Adriatic in the autumn of 2014. The description of both solitary and aggregate forms is given along with 18S rRNA and mitochondrial cox1 sequence data that provides strong evidence that both forms belong to the same species. The described species is morphologically markedly different from B. rostrata (Traustedt, 1893) and B. berneri van Soest, 1975, previously the only two species in the genus Brooksia. Genetic analysis based on 18S rRNA gene confirmed distinctness of B. lacromae sp. nov. from B. rostrata (1.5% uncorrected pairwise distance). The appendicularian Fritillaria helenae Bückmann, 1924, so far known from the Atlantic only, was found in the same samples as B. lacromae sp. nov. Co-occurrence of B. lacromae sp. nov. with an Atlantic appendicularian suggests an Atlantic or Western Mediterranean origin for this new taxon. -

Mycosphere 8(9), 1457–1555, Doi 10.5943/mycosphere/8/9/10 Abstract Incorporating asexual genera in a natural classification system and proposing one name for pleomorphic genera are important topics in the current era of mycology. Recently, several polyphyletic genera have been restricted to a single family, linked with a single sexual morph or spilt into several unrelated genera. Thus, updating existing data bases and check lists is essential to stay abreast of these recent advanes. In this paper, we update the existing outline of asexual genera and provide taxonomic notes for asexual genera which have been introduced since 2012. Approximately, 320 genera have been reported or linked with a sexual morph, but most genera lack sexual morphs. Mycosphere 12(1), 238–405, Doi 10.5943/mycosphere/12/1/4 Abstract This is a continuation of a series of studies incorporating asexually reproducing fungi in a natural classification. Over 3653 genera (ca. 30,000 morphological species) are known from asexual reproduction (1388 coelomycetes and 2265 hyphomycetes) in their life cycle. Among these, 687 genera are pleomorphic (305 coelomycetous; 378 hyphomycetous and four genera show both coelomycetous and hyphomycetous morphs). We provide notes for these pleomorphic genera in this paper.
