Situated in an exceptional natural setting between and ACCESS , this iconic architectural ensemble, built in the early 20th century, offers a panoramic view over the Mediterranean coast. Here Eileen Gray and Le Corbusier came to express the essence of their art. Brought together as Cap Moderne, three sites invite visitors to discover the private lives and lifestyle of these 20th century visionaries. Villa E-1027, designed by Eileen Gray with her companion Jean Badovici, is a manifesto, an avant-garde vision of life outdoors. Le Corbusier left several traces of his work here: he decorated the walls of the Villa with frescoes, and, a stone’s throw away, those of Thomas Rebutato’s restaurant; he created 5 holiday cabins on stilts, and constructed the famous wooden cabanon where he spent every summer until his death in 1965.
