The Rural Municipality of De Salaberry is located in ’s Eastman Region. De Salaberry is home to 3000 residents and is approximately 50 kilometres south of . The municipality includes the Unincorporated Urban Centres of St. Malo, Dufrost, and Otterburne, and surrounds the Village of St. Pierre-Jolys. The local economy is based largely on agriculture and services sector support. Forested areas in the eastern part of the municipality are well adapted to cattle, which can move freely in the enclosed fields. The city hosts many companies that serve and supply the agricultural sector. Many essential services are established in the village of Saint-Pierre-Joly. The municipality has two significant recreational facilities. Located two miles north of St-Pierre-Jolys and nestled along the beautiful Rat River, the Rat River Golf Course is one of Manitoba’s picturesque 18-hole golf course. The provincial park of Saint- Malo is located near the community of the same name.
