De Salaberry is home to 3000 residents and is approximately 50 kilometres south of Winnipeg. The municipality includes the Unincorporated Urban Centres of St. Malo, Dufrost, and Otterburne, and surrounds the Village of St. Pierre-Jolys. erry The local economy is based largely on agriculture and services sector support. Forested areas in the eastern part of the municipality are well adapted to cattle, which can move freely in the enclosed fields. The city hosts many companies that serve and supply the agricultural sector. Many essential services are established in the village of AB Saint-Pierre-Joly. L The municipality has two significant recreational facilities. Located two miles north of St-Pierre-Jolys and nestled along the beautiful Rat River, the Rat River Golf Course is one of Manitoba’s picturesque 18-hole golf course. The provincial park of Saint- Malo is located near the community of the same name. The facilities include a large campground and an area for picnics, a small lake for swimming and a sandy beach SA and trails open year-round for hiking, skiing and snowmobiling.
