At the same time, K. reticulata is the second and R. abyssalis is the third representative of their respective genera. -

En el presente trabajo se muestra la primera cita del ostrácodo Heterocypris bosniaca Petkowski, Scharf y Keyser, 2000 para la Península Ibérica. Se trata de una especie de cipridoideo muy poco conocida que habita pozas de aguas temporales. Se descubrió el año 2000 en Bosnia y desde entonces solo se ha reportado su presencia en Israel (2004) y en Valencia (presente trabajo). -

Recent Marine Ostracoda from the Solomon Islands: Part 1 – Cypridoidea, Platycopina and Cladocopina

WHATLEY2 1 Statoil, N-4035, Stavanger, Norway 2Institute of Geography & Earth Sciences, University of Wales, Aberystwyth, UK ABSTRACT – Sixteen species of marine Cypridoidea belonging to seven genera and a rather small fauna of nine platycopid and two cladocopid species from the Solomon Islands are described. Nine species are described and illustrated as new. They are: Paracypris contracta, Triangulocypris teeteri, T. umbonata, Aglaiocypris supercylindrica, Argilloecia teres, Propontocypris paracrocata, P. supertrigonella, Cytherelloi- dea asymmetrica and C. dictyotos ssp. nov. Five species have been described previously and 11 species are retained in open nomenclature. While the Cypridoidea comprise only 15% of the total fauna of 160 species recorded from the Solomon Islands, they are not insignificant and, in some environments, are among the dominant ostracods. The platycopids/cladocopids comprise only 13% of the total fauna but likewise are dominant in some environments. They are typically SW Pacific in character. J. Possible fossil ostracod (Crustacea) eggs from the Cretaceous of Brazil ROBIN JAMES SMITH Department of Geology, Leicester University, University Road, Leicester LEI 7RH, UK ABSTRACT - Spherical objects recovered from the acetic acid preparation residues of vertebrate fossils from the Santana Formation (Lower Cretaceous) of northeast Brazil are postulated as the eggs of the ostracod Pattersoncypris rnicropupiNosu Bate, 1972 (Ostracoda). These spheres are phosphatized and range from 85 to 1 1Opm in diameter, and are comparable in many respects to the eggs of several Recent ostracod species. J.
