There were many applications from outside of Szczecin. Numerous citizens of the voivodship applied, but there are also many volunteers from Warsaw, Bytom and Otwock... Even Ukrainian citizens and a student from England want to become liaison officers. One Exactly 5 months before candidate that lives in Szczecin comes from Asia and speaks Chinese fluently. The liaison's officers' responsibility will be to provide efficient communication the event the Szczecin between crews and the organiser. Think of these volunteers as special task Sailing Centre has closed superheroes! its application process for liaison officers for ship crews during the TSR grand finale. An event of such scale as the grand finale of The Tall Ships Races requires months of preparations – hundreds of meetings, thousands of phone calls and emails, Infrastructure numerous decisions and arrangements as well as a lot of money. All of this serves one purpose – to provide citizens and tourists with a safe and appealing way to enjoy the most beautiful tall ships in the world. Preparations, however, are not only about scheduling artistic events, planning the mooring of ships and arranging security. They also include infrastructural investments, which even though initiated for the event, will stay with the citizens of Szczecin after the tall ships are gone. The Roads and Transport Administration of Szczecin has already completely renovated approximately 1000 metres of pavements in the vicinity of the Wały Chrobrego embankment. The roads' surfaces have also changed considerably. These will become promenades during the event. A change for the better can already be seen when walking along the Zygmunta Starego, Jarowita or Henryka Pobożnego streets. They are cleaner, prettier and safer. The other bank of the Oder is undergoing a transformation as well. The Old Town quay on Łasztownia island is being renovated right now. A 650 metre section (from the Trasa Zamkowa route to the Gryf fishing port) will transform into a wide avenue with lanterns, benches, rubbish bins, bike stands and other street furniture. The three harbour cranes, called the “liftosaurs” by the locals, will be one of the most impressive elements of a new, modernised Old Town quay. Hidden under special covers for the last couple of months, they have finally been revealed for everyone to feast their eyes upon. In accordance with Szczecin authorities the cranes will be professionally lighted during the event. The illumination installation will be permanent and will stay with us vis-à-vis the Wały Chrobrego embankment even after The Tall Ships Races end. The grand finale of The Tall Ships Races in Szczecin will be commemorated by the Polish Post Office with a special, commemorative stamp! Polish Post Office Promotion authorities have just given us the good news about the “planned publication of The Tall Ships Races Szczecin 2017 stamp”. This way postcards sent in August from Szczecin will be accompanied by a specially designed stamp. In accordance with our plan The Tall Ships Races 2017 are promoted using various methods. We are active on the Inter- net and on social media. We are prin- ting and distributing leaflets, billbo- ards, sails, flags, etc. We are also ma- nufacturing memorabilia. We also visit trade shows. During the Tour Salon in Poznań (February 2017) the Western Pomerania booth, of which the TRS was an integral part, has been awarded the Acanthus Aureus award for “booth most advantageous to the completion of a marketing strategy”. The organisers are now planning to participate in the presti- gious ITB Berlin as well as Wind and Water Warsaw trade shows. Our 360° film watched with special gogg- les will give our guests a chance to visit Szczecin.
