Making an Impact at Home As I reflect on the close of our 2013 Annual Appeal campaign, I am struck with pride at the and Abroad 3 association’s achievement in creating a lasting movement of members that are now seeing giving to the Foundation as an annual tradition. Over 80% of the donors that pledged in 2012 renewed their Biggest Hearts of 2013 4 commitments in 2013. And, the number of individual givers has continued to expand each year, with over 2,200 of our members giving (see the impressive list at the back of this issue) generously to support our efforts in this campaign. In addition, our number of “sustainers” (donors who pledge to Foundation Partnership - give an automatic amount on a monthly basis) has continued to expand, which reflects the growing Digisonics 5 feeling that the Foundation is going to continue to build. I think this is a reflection on the fact that we have been able to prove to our donors that when they give, it all goes to the worthwhile outreach projects and mission-based activities they support. Investors List 6 I want to thank my fellow taskforce campaign volunteers including Mike Foster, Brian Hoit, Peg Knoll, Steve Lester, Vera Rigolin, Maryellen Orsinelli, David Adams, Miguel Quinones, Marti McCulloch, Bharatbhushan Patel, Jose Banchs, Navin Nanda, Ben Eidem, Jim Thomas, Vijay Nambi, and John Toptine who actively reached out to all of our FASE members and many others to encourage their giving as they have personally done for this important campaign. They also provided guidance on the projects that were selected for funding, and in one such decision, the Society will be funding its first ever domestic humanitarian mission in the Fall of 2014 in Los Angeles, CA. We reached for new funding targets in 2013 by applying for our first grant and promoting the Foundation in the One Heart Magazine. And, we continued projects that have brought us success in the past, such as the Gala, the Fun Run and the Local Society and Hospital Competition. We worked hard to make sure every dollar that was given in 2012 was allocated to move the field and its vision forward. And we celebrated our amazing contributors at the second annual donor reception in June, honoring Mission those who generously gave to last year’s Appeal. Now, we are extremely excited to announce that the 2013 Annual Appeal was successful in raising Statement: more than 76% of its goal through donations, and with the gains from wise investments, will surpass our $250,000 funding goal for this campaign!
