This statement from the opening movement was not originally the Universo is presented this evening in two versions: an instrumental ending to the poem; it was not even included in the final movement ensemble composed by Enrique Feldman, followed by a choral when I rearranged the text. He composed six movements in 1865, adding repetitions of “getröstet” or “comforted,” the text changes to the final movement in 1868. In 1871 he arranged an intimate piano Psalms 126:5. The key, tempo, and mood follow, reflecting “those four-hands accompaniment, the version you will hear this evening. that sow in tears shall reap in joy.” Save the 7th movement, it is unique among Requiems in that its text is not the liturgy from the Catholic Requiem Mass including prayers Mvt. 2. Brahms’ bleak outlook on life is on full display in the for the dead, but a compilation of Bible verses Brahms selected beginning of the 2nd movement. These verses are taken sets the text Denn alles Fleisch es ist wie Gras, “For all flesh is as from 16 chapters in 10 books, with the musical material—mood, grass.” Midway through the movement, however, Brahms shows us orchestration, tempo, key—changing each time the text shifts to dramatically that he also has hope, beginning with Aber, or “but,” a new verse. The entire Requiem, therefore, is a highly personal and continuing through fugal procedures on text declaring that statement of Brahms’ theology and his personal outlook on life, those who have hope and work hard shall be rewarded! which includes: 1) the bleak reality of the transience of life; 2) the Mvt. 3. Added to the Requiem in 1868 after the first iteration, this Romantic harmonic language, with unexpected modulations and movement featuring soprano solo has a choral refrain, often in chromaticism, together with his legendary lyrical melodies that canon, of Ich will euch trösten, wie einen seine Mutter tröstet, “As have given comfort for over 150 years. one whom his mother comforteth, so will I comfort you.” As such, much speculation has arisen that this movement was composed in Mvt. 1. • Modeling Radar Rainfall Estimation Uncertainties: Random Error Model A
Modeling Radar Rainfall Estimation Uncertainties: Random Error Model A. AghaKouchak1; E. Habib2; and A. Bárdossy3 Abstract: Precipitation is a major input in hydrological models. Radar rainfall data compared with rain gauge measurements provide higher spatial and temporal resolutions. However, radar data obtained form reflectivity patterns are subject to various errors such as errors in reflectivity-rainfall ͑Z-R͒ relationships, variation in vertical profile of reflectivity, and spatial and temporal sampling among others. Characterization of such uncertainties in radar data and their effects on hydrologic simulations is a challenging issue. The superposition of random error of different sources is one of the main factors in uncertainty of radar estimates. One way to express these uncertainties is to stochastically generate random error fields and impose them on radar measurements in order to obtain an ensemble of radar rainfall estimates. In the present study, radar uncertainty is included in the Z-R relationship whereby radar estimates are perturbed with two error components: purely random error and an error component that is proportional to the magnitude of rainfall rates. Parameters of the model are estimated using the maximum likelihood method in order to account for heteroscedasticity in radar rainfall error estimates. An example implementation of this approached is presented to demonstrate the model performance. The results confirm that the model performs reasonably well in generating an ensemble of radar rainfall fields with similar stochastic characteristics and correlation structure to that of unperturbed radar estimates. Among recent novels in Malaysia it is one of the most difficulteadings, r but probably the most refreshing and rewarding one. Perhaps it is also one of the most multifaceted narratives, with elements of romance, adventure, history, legend, postcolonial discourse, postmodernism, socio-political criticism, feminism, and even fantasy. Consequently, the novel also lends itself to various ways of reading: from the perspective of postcolonial, postmodern, socio-political, and feminist theories, or a blending of all of them. Although the novel appears to be postmodern and unique, it in fact is connected not only to postmodernism and magic realism (as associated with Carlos Fuentes and Gabriel Garcia Marquez), but perhaps more importantly it draws on a long established tradition of Malay folk literature, specifically the folk omancer known as cerita penglipur lara (tales of soother of cares).
