DEFENCE REGULATIONS MADE UNDER ARTICLE 3 OF THE EMERGENCY POWERS (COLONIAL DEFENCE) ORDER IN COUNCIL, 1939, AND THE EMERGENCY POWERS (DEFENCE) ACT, 1939.

IN EXERCISE of the powers vested in him by Article 3 of the Emergency Powers (Colonial Defence) Order in Council, 1939, and the Emergency Powers (Defence) Act, 1939, the High Commissioner has made the following Defence Regulations :—

1. These Regulations may be cited as the Defence (Bills of Citation. Exchange etc.) Regulations, 1912.

2. —(1) These Regulations shall apply to !)ills of exchange and Application, promissory notes which — (a) at the date of publication of these Regulations in the Ga• zette are held as security for a loan granted for agricultural purposes by an approved company within the meaning of the Short Term Crop Loans Ordinance, 1935, and, No. 27 of 1935.

(b) fell due for payment between the 1st January, 1937, and the 31st December, 1937, both dates inclusive, and

(c) at the date of the publication of these Regulations in the Gazette, are unpaid in wdiole or in part.

(2) For the purpose of this Regulation the term "agricultural purposes" includes husbandry of all kinds, purchase of live stock, seed and fertilizer, and improvements (whether temporary or per• manent) to the land designed to conserve the soil, to improve the fertility of the land, or to provide accommodation for live stock or storage for produce.

ROAD TRANSPORT ORDINANCE.

BY-LAWS MADE BY THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF NABLUS UNDER SECTION 25(l)(d) OF THE ROAD TRANSPORT ORDINANCE.

IN EXERCISE of the powers vested in them by subsection (l)(d) Cap. 128. of section 25 of the Road Transport Ordinance, the Municipal Council of Nablus, with the consent of the District Commissioner, Samaria District, and the licensing authority, have made the fol• lowing by-laws :—

Citation. 1. These by-laws may be cited as the Nablus Municipal Coun• cil (Licensing of Bicycles and Tricycles) By-laws, 1942.

Interpretation. 2. 3. IN EXERCISE of the powers vested in him by regulation 27 of the Defence Regula­ tions, 1939, the High Commissioner has ordered and it is hereby ordered as —׳: follows

Citation. 1• This Order may be cited as the Defence (Entry and Depar­ ture of Persons) Order, 1942.

No person shall enter or depart from Palestine except enter or leave through any of the following places of entry and departure :— Palestine through certain Kantara Railway Station places. (b) by a British subject, or a Palestinian citizen, who is em• ployed in the service of the Government of Trans-Jordan and wishes to proceed to Trans-Jordan. (2) The written permit referred to in sub-paragraphs (l)(a)(i), (l)(b) and (l)(c) of this paragraph shall be in the form of an en• dorsement on the travel document (whether national passport, identity and travel document, emergency certificate, or affidavit) of the person desiring to proceed from Palestine, and such endorse• ment shall be in the following form :—
