It includes statistical data and anal- yses which give an overview of Slovenian 03 Year in review tourism in the past year. The main source of information for the publication is statistical 04 Slovenia at a glance data, gathered and published by the Statisti- cal Office of the Republic of Slovenia. 05 International tourism 2017 was once again an exceptional year for Slovenian tourism. We observed more than 12.5 million overnight stays, which is 12.6% 06 Tourism in Slovenia in 2017 more than in 2016, and almost 5 million tourist arrivals, which represents a 14.6% in- 10 Macro destinations crease compared to the year before. Growth of tourist arrivals and overnight stays was especially high among foreign tourists. Macro destination with the most accommodation facilities is Alpine Slovenia – it has 52.032 beds. Municipality with the most accommodation facilities is Piran, followed by Ljubljana and Bohinj.
