ARTISTRY® Men Tour Prize Draw TERMS and CONDITIONS 1 ARTISTRY® Men Tour Prize Draw TERMS AND CONDITIONS 1. Information on how to enter and prize details form part of the conditions. 2. Entry is open to all Amway Independent Business Owners (IBOs) who are a resident of Australia or New Zealand and who attend at least one of the following 2015 ARTISTRY Men Tour with Michelle D’Allaird. The tour dates are as follows: - 7 April 2015 at The Adelaide Convention Centre, North Terrace, Adelaide; - 8 April 2015 at the Amway Business Centre, Lincoln Homemakers Centre 64-96 Gaffney St, Coburg, Melbourne; - 9 April 2015 at the Crown Perth Astral Three (East), Great Eastern Highway, Burswood, Perth; - 10 April 2015 The Concourse Chatswood Concert Hall 409, Victoria Avenue, Chatswood, Sydney; - 12 April 2015 BTP Conference & Exhibition Centre, 1 Clunies Ross Court, Eight Mile Plains, Brisbane; - 14 April 2015 at the Amway Business Centre, 6A Pacific Rise, Mount Wellington, Auckland; - 15 April 2015 at the Chateau on the Park Centre, Deans Ave & Kilmarnock Street, Riccarton, Christchurch; or - 16 April 2015 at the Copthorne Hotel Palmerston, North 110 Fitzherbert Avenue, Palmerston North. Employees of Amway of Australia, their immediate families, suppliers, associates, companies and agencies are not eligible to enter. Persons under the age of 18 years are not eligible to participate. 3. To enter the promotion, an IBO must place an order for the qualifying promotion available at one of the tour shows, using the order forms provided on the night at the Adelaide, Melbourne, Perth, Sydney, Brisbane, Auckland, Christchurch or Palmerston North tour. Every order for a qualifying promotion and form completed entitles the purchaser to one entry into the competition. 4. A qualifying promotion includes an ARTISTRY Men System Set (VS/QO 260896) 5. The promotion will start and finish when the tours start and finish. Commencement and finishing times for the each ARTISTRY Men Tour shows are as follows: - 7 April 2015 at The Adelaide Convention Centre, North Terrace, Adelaide Start: 7:00pm Finish: 9:30pm - 8 April 2015 at the Amway Business Centre, Lincoln Homemakers Centre, 64-96 Gaffney Street, Coburg, Melbourne Start: 7:00pm Finish: 9:30pm - 9 April 2015 at the Crown Perth Astral Three (East), Great Eastern Highway, Burswood, Perth Start: 7:00pm Finish: 9:30pm - 10 April 2015 The Concourse Chatswood, Concert Hall 409 Victoria Avenue, Chatswood, Sydney Start: 7:00pm Finish: 9:30pm - 12 April 2015 BTP Conference & Exhibition Centre, 1 Clunies Ross Court, Eight Mile Plains, Brisbane Start: 3:00pm Finish: 5:00pm - 14 April 2015 Amway Business Centre, 6A Pacific Rise, Mount Wellington, Auckland Start: 7:00pm Finish: 9:30pm - 15 April 2015 Chateau on the Park Centre, Deans Avenue & Kilmarnock Street, Riccarton, Christchurch Start: 7:00pm Finish: 9:30pm - 16 April 2015 at the Copthorne Hotel Palmerston, North 110 Fitzherbert Avenue, Palmerston North Start: 7:00pm Finish: 9:30pm. 6. At each ARTISTRY Men Tour, every IBO who places an order for the qualifying promotion and submits the order form on the night of a show will go into the draw to win a prize. Two prizes will be drawn at the conclusion of each corresponding event and one major prize will be drawn at a date, listed below, following the conclusion of all tours. 7. Two prizes are available at each tour and one major prize is available for all tours. The IBOs who win each prize available at each tour will go back into the major draw for the chance to win the final prize. 8. The prizes at the Melbourne, Perth, Sydney, and Brisbane tours are: a Red Balloon Voucher valued at AU$300/NZ$300; and a BCD Spa Travel Voucher valued at AU$500/NZ$500. Any additional inclusions to these prizes may be requested by the winner but is subject to the total prize value not exceeding AU$300/NZ$300 for the Red Balloon Voucher and AU$500/NZ$500 for the BCD Spa Travel Voucher. Any additional costs, levies, inclusions, booking fees, taxes or surcharges specific to the winner’s Red Balloon or BCD Travel Voucher purchase may apply and will be at the cost of the winner. The AU$300/NZ$300 Red Balloon Voucher and the AU$500/NZ$500 BCD Spa Travel Voucher must be used in one transaction and are valid for 12 months from the date of issue. 9. The prizes at the Adelaide, Auckland, Christchurch and Palmerston North tours are: a Red Balloon Voucher valued at AU$100/NZ$100; and A BCD Spa Travel Voucher valued at AU$300/NZ$300. Any additional inclusions to these prizes may be requested by the winner but is subject to the total prize value not exceeding AU$100/NZ$100 for the Red Balloon Voucher and AU$300/NZ$300 for the BCD Spa Travel Voucher. Any additional costs, levies, inclusions, booking fees, taxes or surcharges specific to the winner’s Red Balloon or BCD Travel Voucher purchase may apply and will be at the cost of the winner. The AU$100/NZ$100 Red Balloon Voucher and the AU$300/NZ$300 BCD Spa Travel Voucher must be used in one transaction and are valid for 12 months from the date of issue. 10. The major prize for ALL tour locations (Adelaide, Melbourne, Perth, Sydney, Brisbane, Auckland, Christchurch and Palmerston North) is one BBQ Galore Voucher Valued at AU$2000/NZ$2000. Any additional inclusions may be requested by the winner but is subject to the total prize value not exceeding AU$2000/NZ$2000 for the BBQ Galore Voucher. Any additional costs, levies, inclusions, booking fees, taxes or surcharges specific to the winner’s BBQ Galore Voucher Valued at AU$2000/NZ$2000 may apply and will be at the cost of the winner. The voucher must be used in one transaction and is valid for 12 months from the date of issue. 11. All prizes cannot be transferred, exchanged or redeemed for cash. 12. The draws for the Red Balloon Vouchers (one per listed show) and the BCD Spa Travel Vouchers (one per listed show) will be conducted manually and selected at random as follows: - 7 April 2015 at 9:30pm at The Adelaide Convention Centre, North Terrace, Adelaide; - 8 April 2015 at 9:30pm at the Amway Business Centre, Lincoln Homemakers Centre 64-96 Gaffney Street, Coburg, Melbourne; - 9 April 2015 at 9:30pm at the Crown Perth Astral Three (East), Great Eastern Highway, Burswood, Perth; - 10 April 2015 at 9:30pm at The Concourse Chatswood Concert Hall, 409 Victoria Avenue, Chatswood, Sydney; - 12 April 2015 at 5pm at BTP Conference & Exhibition Centre, 1 Clunies Ross Court, Eight Mile Plains, Brisbane; - 14 April 2015 at 9:30pm at Amway Business Centre, 6A Pacific Rise Mount, Wellington, Auckland; - 15 April 2015 at 9:30pm at Chateau on the Park Centre, Deans Avenue & Kilmarnock Street, Riccarton, Christchurch; and - 16 April 2014 at 9.30pm at the Copthorne Hotel, Palmerston North, 110 Fitzherbert Avenue, Palmerston North. The draw for the BBQ Galore Voucher prize (one voucher for ALL shows) will be conducted electronically and selected at random as follows at 9.00am on 20 April 2015 at Level 3, 7-9 Irvine Place NSW, 2153. 13. Winners will be provided a contact number and website details for Red Balloon, BCD Travel, and BBQs Galore who will liaise directly with the winners to arrange and book prizes. 14. If any prize is unclaimed, a further draw for all prizes (subject to the relevant state authority regulations) will be held at 9.00am on August 17 2015 at 7-9 Irvine Place Bella Vista. 15. The prize winners of the Red Balloon Voucher and BCD Travel Voucher will be announced as follows: - 7 April 2015 at 9:30pm at The Adelaide Convention Centre, North Terrace, Adelaide; - 8 April 2015 at 9:30pm at the Amway Business Centre, Lincoln Homemakers Centre 64-96 Gaffney Street, Coburg; - 9 April 2015 at 9:30pm at the Crown Perth Astral Three (East), Great Eastern Highway, Burswood, Perth; - 10 April 2015 at 9:30pm at The Concourse Chatswood Concert Hall, 409 Victoria Avenue, Chatswood, Sydney; - 12 April 2015 at 5.00pm at BTP Conference & Exhibition Centre, 1 Clunies Ross Court, Eight Mile Plains, Brisbane; - 14 April 2015 at 9:30pm at Amway Business Centre, 6A Pacific Rise Mount, Wellington, Auckland; - 15 April 2015 at 9:30pm at Chateau on the Park Centre, Deans Avenue & Kilmarnock Street, Riccarton, Christchurch; and - 16 April 2014 at 9.30pm at the Copthorne Hotel, Palmerston North, 110 Fitzherbert Avenue, Palmerston North. The prize winner of the BBQ Galore Voucher Valued will be announced at 9.00am on 20 April 2015 at Level 3, 7-9 Irvine Place NSW, 2153. 16. The winners will be notified via telephone and in writing via post on the next working day. The prize winner’s names and state will be published at www.amway.com.au and www.amway.co.nz from April 27 2015 to May 27 2015. The winners of any redraws will be notified via telephone and in writing no later than August 18 2015 and their names and state will be published at www.amway.com.au and www.amway.co.nz from August 24 2015 to September 24 2015. 17. Amway of Australia reserves the right to use each prize winner’s name and state of residence for promotional purposes. 18. Following the draws, no correspondence will be entered into with respect to the determination of the winners. 19. Any winning prize value may be applied against any overdue debt with Amway of Australia or Amway of New Zealand at the time of the draw.

    The works brass band – a historical directory of the industrial and corporate patronage and sponsorship of brass bands Gavin Holman, January 2020 Preston Corporation Tramways Band, c. 1910 From the earliest days of brass bands in the British Isles, they have been supported at various times and to differing extents by businesses and their owners. In some cases this support has been purely philanthropic, but there was usually a quid pro quo involved where the sponsor received benefits – e.g. advertising, income from band engagements, entertainment for business events, a “worthwhile” pastime for their employees, corporate public relations and brand awareness - who would have heard of John Foster’s Mills outside of the Bradford area if it wasn’t for the Black Dyke Band? One major sponsor and supporter of brass bands, particularly in the second half of the 19th century, was the British Army, through the Volunteer movement, with upwards of 500 bands being associated with the Volunteers at some time – a more accurate estimate of these numbers awaits some further analysis. However, I exclude these bands from this paper, to concentrate on the commercial bodies that supported brass bands. I am also excluding social, civic, religious, educational and political organisations’ sponsorship or support. In some cases it is difficult to determine whether a band, composed of workers from a particular company or industry was supported by the business or not. The “workmen’s band” was often a separate entity, supported by a local trade union or other organisation. For the purposes of this review I will be including them unless there is specific reference to a trade union or other social organisation.
