Today we celebrate the 24th Sunday in Ordinary Time – our last Sunday in the season of Summer. Autumn officially begins this Fri- day, September 22nd at 3:02pm CDT. A season filled with tremen- dous beauty awaits us. New oppor- tunities are all around us. It was a very moving sight to see department, police de- partment and first responder vehi- cles in our parking lot last Sunday morning. The sky was as cloudless and clear blue as it was sixteen years ago on September 11, 2001. Our First Responders were all here for the “Blue Mass” which we cele- brated at our 10:00am Mass last Sunday. They appreciated the prayers and thanks we offered for O God, our Heavenly Father, you have given us the gift of them and were especially grateful these catechists to be heralds of the Gospel to our parish for the blessings we prayed over family, them at the end of Mass. Many joined us for the luncheon held in We lift them up to you in thanksgiving and their honor following the Mass. It was something we needed to do!
