Gleichwohl sind über Größe und Gestalt der Gesamtanlage nur wenig konkrete Aussagen möglich. Lediglich die Existenz des vorgenannten Grabens ist gesichert, eine im Jahre 1415 ausdrücklich erwähnte, östlich vorgelagerte Vorburg ist zu erschließen. Angeblich führten Untersuchungen zu Beginn der 1980er Jahre zu der Erkenntnis, dass sich die Anlage des Weiherturms längs des Weiherpfades bis fast in unmittelbare Nähe der Hauptstraße erstreckt haben sollen. Entsprechend dem Verlauf der Gewässer und auf Grundlage des Katasterplanes ist eine polygonale Ringmauer, welche „die etwa 30 x 40 Meter große Kernburg“ (Stefan Ulrich) umgeben haben könnte, zu erschließen. Der Zugang ist entsprechend der topographischen Gegebenheiten im Osten zu vermuten. Turm Von der Tiefburg ist nur noch ein Turmrest erhalten. Der Standort dieses als „Weiherturm“ bezeichneten, wohl im späten zwölften oder frühen 13. Jahrhundert errichteten, noch vor dem Jahr 1629 neu gedeckten, quadratischen Bergfrieds befindet sich in der Mitte des eigentlichen Burgareals. Follow the scenic Odenbach cycle path gently upstream until after a descent you reach Otterberg with its Cistercian church. A long level passage through the valley of the Lauter stream takes you back to the river Glan. After passing a disused railway tunnel you come back to Meisenheim, one of the few towns here that weren't destroyed during the many french-german wars. On our way back we master a last gentle uphill leg with many views up to Duchroth and finally rush down to Oberhausen.
