Bereavement support at the Trust

The Trust sees support for relatives and loved ones after the death of a patient as a natural and important extension to the care we provide patients. We are passionate about ensuring that the support is there after death as it is before and therefore offer a range of bereavement services across the Trust. Our bereavement service provides individualised care for all our bereaved relatives with information, guidance and support following the death of a patient. Tackling incidents of violence and aggression at HEFT

The nature of the work undertaken by HEFT means that staff are required to work with patients and visitors that can be distressed, anxious or in pain. Such situations can lead to a risk of antisocial, aggressive or violent behaviour. The Trust has a statutory obligation to provide a safe and secure environment for its patients and staff as well as a moral duty to take all reasonable steps to protect and support them. The Trust’s Prevention and Management of Violence and Aggression policy aims to safeguard staff by helping to prevent violent or aggressive situations and provide guidance to manage them The eager students in Australia learning the ‘Solihull Approach’ safely when they occur.
