Plant Protection Department, Faculty of Agriculture, Assiut University, Egypt ABSTRACT Subfamily Cossoninae is distributed worldwide, with 287 genera based on latest literatures. Species of Cossoninae is found mainly in dead or dying plant parts of trees from pteridophytes to gymnosperms, and dicots, in case of feeding on alive or still sound tissues, the host specificity is high. In Egypt, it has seven genera including ten species. Those genera and species based on their latest position and changes according to latest literatures are Melicius gracilis (Rosenhauer), Melicius cylindrus (Boheman), Hexarthrum culinaris (Germar), Mesites pallidipennis Boheman, Mesites cunipes Boheman, Mesites cunipes var. cribratus Fairmaire, Choerorhinus squalidus Fairmaire, Amaurorhinus bonnairii Fairmaire, Pselactus spadix (Herbst), Micromesites deplanatus Pic. The species of these genera, which recoded in Egypt, is distributed in Mediterranean basin countries except the last species, which recoded only from Egypt. All those species collected from four regions, Maryut, Cairo, Ismailia and Alexandria, which located at North Egypt. They were found under the bark of old trees of willow, plane, mulberry, fig and Tamarix sp. during the whole year except the months of February, October and November. The fauna of Cossoninae probably are not reflecting the reality of which in Egypt, since those are not distributed throughout the country. So many weevil collections are required particularly from Middle and South Egypt in the next studies. Keywords: Taxonomy, Weevils, Curculionidae, Cossoninae, Egypt. INTRODUCTION Earlier, sub-family Cossoninae was treated either as a separated family of the Rhynchophora, subfamily of the Calandridae or a group under sub-family Curculioninae. -

Glossary Glossary Albedo A measure of an object’s reflectivity. A pure white reflecting surface has an albedo of 1.0 (100%). A pitch-black, nonreflecting surface has an albedo of 0.0. The Moon is a fairly dark object with a combined albedo of 0.07 (reflecting 7% of the sunlight that falls upon it). The albedo range of the lunar maria is between 0.05 and 0.08. The brighter highlands have an albedo range from 0.09 to 0.15. Anorthosite Rocks rich in the mineral feldspar, making up much of the Moon’s bright highland regions. Aperture The diameter of a telescope’s objective lens or primary mirror. Apogee The point in the Moon’s orbit where it is furthest from the Earth. At apogee, the Moon can reach a maximum distance of 406,700 km from the Earth. Apollo The manned lunar program of the United States. Between July 1969 and December 1972, six Apollo missions landed on the Moon, allowing a total of 12 astronauts to explore its surface. Asteroid A minor planet. A large solid body of rock in orbit around the Sun. Banded crater A crater that displays dusky linear tracts on its inner walls and/or floor. 250 Basalt A dark, fine-grained volcanic rock, low in silicon, with a low viscosity. Basaltic material fills many of the Moon’s major basins, especially on the near side. Glossary Basin A very large circular impact structure (usually comprising multiple concentric rings) that usually displays some degree of flooding with lava. The largest and most conspicuous lava- flooded basins on the Moon are found on the near side, and most are filled to their outer edges with mare basalts. -

The list was created between 1995 and 1999, and subsequently updated in response to the Species and Habitats Review Report published in 2007. The table also provides details of the species' occurrences in the four UK countries, and describes whether the species was an 'original' species (on the original list created between 1995 and 1999), or was added following the 2007 review. All original species were provided with Species Action Plans (SAPs), species statements, or are included within grouped plans or statements, whereas there are no published plans for the species added in 2007. Scientific names and commonly used synonyms derive from the Nameserver facility of the UK Species Dictionary, which is managed by the Natural History Museum. SHERIFFDOM OF GRAMPIAN, HIGHLAND AND ISLANDS AT TAIN [2017] FAI 18 B36/17 DETERMINATION BY SHERIFF CHRISTOPHER DICKSON UNDER THE FATAL ACCIDENTS AND SUDDEN DEATHS INQUIRIES (SCOTLAND) ACT 1976 into the death of ALEXANDER JOHN ROBBINS Tain, 7 September 2017 The sheriff, having resumed consideration of the Fatal Accident Inquiry into the death of Alexander John Robbins, Determines, in terms of section 6 of the Fatal Accident and Sudden Deaths Inquiry (Scotland) Act 1976 (hereinafter referred to as “the 1976 Act)”, as follows: 1. In terms of section 6(1)(a) of the 1976 Act: That the late Alexander John Robbins, born 19 November 1954, died at Raigmore Hospital, Inverness at 15.33 hours on 31 March 2016. That the accident resulting in death took place at a cliff top field near Daill House, Achiemore, Kyle of Durness, Sutherland, on 31 March 2016 between the hours of 11.20 and 13.15. 2. In terms of section 6(1)(b) of the 1976 Act: That the cause of Mr Robbins’ death was: 2 1(a) Multiple injuries, due to a: 1(b) Fall from a cliff while riding a quad bike. That the accident resulting in death arose by way of the quad bike, which Mr Robbins was riding, going through a cliff top fence, over the edge of a cliff top and falling approximately 60 feet to a rocky beach below. That the cause of the accident resulting in death is unknown. 3. In terms of section 6(1)(c) of the 1976 Act: There are no reasonable precautions whereby the accident resulting in the death of Mr Robbins might have been avoided. -

Introduction The Checklist of the Lepidoptera of the British Isles has previously been amended (Agassiz, Beavan & Heckford 2016a, 2016b, 2019 and 2020). This update details 4 species new to the main list and 3 to Appendix A. Numerous taxonomic changes are incorporated and country distributions are updated. CENSUS The number of species now recorded from the British Isles stands at 2,558 of which 58 are thought to be extinct and in addition there are 191 adventive species.
