List of UK BAP Priority Terrestrial Invertebrate Species (2007) UK Biodiversity Action Plan List of UK BAP Priority Terrestrial Invertebrate Species (2007) For more information about the UK Biodiversity Action Plan (UK BAP) visit https://jncc.gov.uk/our-work/uk-bap/ List of UK BAP Priority Terrestrial Invertebrate Species (2007) A list of the UK BAP priority terrestrial invertebrate species, divided by taxonomic group into: Insects, Arachnids, Molluscs and Other invertebrates (Crustaceans, Worms, Cnidaria, Bryozoans, Millipedes, Centipedes), is provided in the tables below. The list was created between 1995 and 1999, and subsequently updated in response to the Species and Habitats Review Report published in 2007. The table also provides details of the species' occurrences in the four UK countries, and describes whether the species was an 'original' species (on the original list created between 1995 and 1999), or was added following the 2007 review. All original species were provided with Species Action Plans (SAPs), species statements, or are included within grouped plans or statements, whereas there are no published plans for the species added in 2007. Scientific names and commonly used synonyms derive from the Nameserver facility of the UK Species Dictionary, which is managed by the Natural History Museum.     WILDLIFE REPORT REVIEW OF 2019 TOP – EARLY BUMBLE BEE BOTTOM – SWALLOWTAIL MOTH Introduction The end of 2019 is the appropriate moment to look closely at how this year has been for wildlife at Eric wall LTD. This will inform the business about what the site is achieving towards meeting the objectives of the LEAF organisation. There are highlights and moderate successes as well as some disappointments. In order to assess the situation a suite of indicators are used. The specific indicators are birds, butterflies, moths and orchids. All these groups of species are regularly monitored; the data is collected and stored. Information about other species including reptiles, mammals and other insects; especially bees is also collected as anecdotal observations. In excess of 5% of the nursery land holding can currently be managed for the benefit of wildlife and Rowan Tree planted in 2015 the quality of this management will also be examined in this report. The United Kingdom government’s Joint Nature Conservation Committee (JNCC) latest State of Nature report shows that the trends for wildlife numbers and distribution are more likely to be declining than expanding. For a business like Eric Wall LTD the fact that many rare and specialised species are declining is not relevant, these species have never been present here. The important statistics concern the general abundance of the commoner species. The report highlights that general species abundance has declined by 13% since the 1970s. It is in this area that this business can do things that can help to arrest this decline; or equally carry out actions that reinforce this trend.

    Review of butterfly, moth and other natural history sightings 2019 January January started dry and settled but mostly cloudy with high pressure dominant, and it remained generally dry and often mild during the first half of the month. The second half became markedly cooler with overnight frosts and the last week saw a little precipitation, some which was occasionally wintry. With the mild weather continuing from December 2018 there were a small number of migrant moths noted in January, comprising a Dark Sword-grass at Seabrook on the 5th, a Silver Y there on the 13th and 2 Plutella xylostella (Diamond-back Moths) there on the 15th, whilst a very unseasonal Dark Arches at Hythe on the 4th may have been of immigrant origin. Dark Sword-grass at Seabrook (Paul Howe) Dark Arches at Hythe (Ian Roberts) More typical species involved Epiphyas postvittana (Light Brown Apple Moth), Satellite, Mottled Umber, Winter Moth, Chestnut, Spring Usher and Early Moth. Early Moth at Seabrook (Paul Howe) Spring Usher at Seabrook (Paul Howe) The only butterfly noted was a Red Admiral at Nickolls Quarry on the 1st but the mild weather encouraged single Buff-tailed Bumblebees to appear at Seabrook on the 7th and Mill Point on the 8th, whilst a Minotaur Beetle was attracted to light at Seabrook on the 6th. A Common Seal and two Grey Seals were noted regularly off Folkestone, whilst at Hare was seen near Botolph’s Bridge on the 1st and a Mink was noted there on the 17th. February After a cold start to the month it was generally mild from the 5th onwards.

Introduction The Checklist of the Lepidoptera of the British Isles has previously been amended (Agassiz, Beavan & Heckford 2016a, 2016b, 2019 and 2020). This update details 4 species new to the main list and 3 to Appendix A. Numerous taxonomic changes are incorporated and country distributions are updated. CENSUS The number of species now recorded from the British Isles stands at 2,558 of which 58 are thought to be extinct and in addition there are 191 adventive species. Studies on nocturnal Lepidoptera were carried out on the Laukėnai raised bog and the adjacent wet forest in 2001. Species composition and abundance were evaluated and compared. The species richness was much higher in the forest than at the bog. The core of each lepidopteran community was composed of 22 species with an abundance of higher than 1.0% of the total catch. Tyrpho- philous Hypenodes humidalis (22.0% of all individuals) and Nola aerugula (13.0%) were the dominant species in the raised bog community, while tyrphoneutral Pelosia muscerda (13.6%) and Eilema griseola (8.3%) were the most abundant species at the forest site. Five tyrphobiotic and nine tyrphophilous species made up 43.4% of the total catch on the bog, and three and seven species, respectively, at the forest site, where they made up 9.2% of all individuals. 59% of lepidopteran species recorded on the bog and 36% at the forest site were represented by less than five individuals. The species compositions of these communities showed a weak similarity. Habitat preferences of the tyrphobiontic and tyrphophilous species and dispersal of some of the species between the habi- tats are discussed. INTRODUCTION (1996). WEIGT und A. BENNEWITZ den Sumpflabkraut-Blattspanner Lampropteryx otregiata (METCALFE , 1917 ) in einem Tal im Arnsberger Wald (Kreis Soest, nördliches Sauerland) (WEIGT 1986). Die Fundorte liegen in einer Höhe zwischen 250-300 m ü.NN (WEIGT schriftl.Mitt.). Es handelte sich damals um den Erstnachweis für Nordrhein-Westfalen. Da in der Folgezeit weitere Funde in NRW nicht bekannt geworden sind, wurde L. otregiata in der aktuel- len Roten Liste der in Nordrhein-Westfalen gefährdeten Schmetterlinge von 2010 als verschollen eingestuft (ROTE LISTE NRW 2010: Bearbeitungsstand Juli 2010).
