YOGABODY TEACHER TRAINING PROMOTIONAL EFFORTS

______(initial) At times, YogaBody teacher training staff may take photographs and make audio/video recordings of the training to promote the benefits of participating in its programs and activities. During any photography or recording, I can tell a YogaBody Teacher Training staff member that I do not wish to participate. I hereby consent to being the subject of any photographs or audio/videos made during my training. I grant permission for these to be published or posted in ways that promote YogaBody Teacher Trainings, classes and workshops and in perpetuity.

THIRD PARTY APPLICATIONS REQUIRED

______(initial) I understand that I will be required to utilize various online and social media programs, including but not limited to email, WhatsApp, Facebook, Yoga Anatomy online program, video, and others, to communicate throughout the training and for certain homework assignments.

CANCELLATION POLICY

______(initial) I understand that there are no refunds. I acknowledge that if, at any time, I decide to discontinue my participation in the YogaBody Teacher Training, any fees that I have paid are wholly non-refundable. I understand that I may receive a prorated account credit proportionate to the value of any unused YogaBody Teacher Training goods/services and that such credit may be utilized toward the purchase of other goods/services at YogaBody Studios.

ACKNOWLEDGEMENT

I acknowledge that a certain minimum level of physical health, strength, fitness, and flexibility will be required. I am voluntarily participating in these activities with knowledge of the risks of injury for which I will voluntarily assume. I acknowledge that I have read the LEGAL LIABILITY RELEASE and agree to the terms outlined in this entire document.

LEGAL LIABILITY RELEASE

As consideration for being permitted to participate in YogaBody Studios classes, activities, outings and travel, I hereby agree that I, myself, my assignees, heirs, guardians and legal representatives will not claim against, sue or attach the property of Scott Winslow, Sandra Alvarez as “Sandra Winslow”, Maria Elena Amaya as “Mod Amaya,” and YogaBody Studios for injury or damage resulting from my participation in any lesson, class, workshop, excursion or activity. I hereby release Scott Winslow, Sandra Alvarez as “Sandra Winslow,” Maria Elena Amaya as “Mod Amaya,” and YogaBody Studios and all agents and heirs from any and all such actions, claims or demands that I, my assignees, heirs, guardians and legal representatives now have or hereafter may have for injury or damage associated with my participation in ANY offerings of YogaBody Studios and for all claims, injury damages or liability suffered by me in connection with my participation. Individuals hereby acknowledge that before participating in an exercise program that they should consult with a physician. I have carefully read this entire agreement and fully understand the above contents. I am aware and agree that this is a complete release of liability voluntarily assumed for my participation in all activities with “YogaBody Studios”.

______(initial) I acknowledge that my being accepted, paying tuition, and participating fully in the YogaBody 200-Hour Yoga Teacher Training DOES NOT guarantee my certification.

______(initial) In order to be certified, YogaBody Studios 200-Hour Yoga Teacher Training requires that I attend ALL scheduled activities, workshops and classes offered during the program. Personal practice/studies & homework, and internship hours are all required to complete certification and must be done outside the class meetings on my own time in order to teach yoga with safety and clarity. I must possess a level of body awareness, mental stability, emotional maturity, communication skills and personal integrity to create and sustain the safe educational environment that supports the personal transformation of students.

______(initial) I understand that I have 1 year from the final date of the training schedule to complete all necessary requirements in order to complete the program and obtain certification.

I will be evaluated by the YogaBody Teacher Training staff on the following criteria:

• Ability to embody postures in proper alignment

• 100% attendance and participation in all sessions

• Timely completion of all homework assignments

• Demonstration of learning through practice teaching

• A 70% or higher grade on the final written exam and final presentation

The YogaBody Teacher Training Staff will encourage and support your learning, integration, and demonstration of these skills throughout training. We will communicate with you regarding any areas of your learning we feel may require some level of improvement, providing you with many opportunities for you to address these areas and become proficient and certified.

About YogaBody’s Training

The YogaBody 200-Hour Teacher Training Program is intended for aspiring yoga teachers and serious yoga students who want to deepen their practice. This training is recognized by the . Upon successful completion of all course requirements, trainees may register with Yoga Alliance at the RYT-200 level.

In this program, trainees will be given the tools necessary to teach yoga safely to others. Trainees will study (yoga poses), (breath work), meditation, practical applied anatomy, alignment & body mechanics, therapeutics, basic Sanskrit, ethics & boundaries, yoga history & philosophy, and an intro to Ayurveda. Our program is ever- evolving and ever-improving, and it is customized to the unique goals and needs of each individual training group of students.

Course Curriculum Requirements

All required hour-logs, assignments, write-ups, etc. must be completed and submitted electronically via email or corresponding social media application to the program facilitators.

Asana Intensive requirements (Approximate 45-60 contact hours)

• Asana Breakdown: Teaching Fundamentals, Alignment Principles, Sun Salutations, Standing & Balancing Postures, Seated Postures & Twists, Forward Bending, Back Bending, Inversions, Sequencing, Teaching a Full Spectrum Class, Physical Adjustments, Modifications, Restoratives, , Prenatal Yoga, Acroyoga • Anatomy subjects: Basic Terms, Compression Vs. Tension, Spine, Core, Pelvis, Hips, Feet, Legs, Knees, Feet, Shoulders, Elbows, Wrists and Hands • Assignment: Teach 5 group classes outside of class time of 2 or more students. Have your students fill out a class evaluation slip that you devise yourself (sample questions: What did you like? What do I need to improve on?). Turn in class evaluations at the end of training with all completed requirements. • Homework: Complete all anatomy and asana assignments and homework, which will be collected and graded throughout the duration of training.

Lecture requirements (Approximate 45-60 contact hours)

• Lecture topics: History, Traditions & Lineages, Sanskrit, 8 limb Path, Yamas & Niyamas, Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras, Chakras & the Subtle Body, Bandhas, Pranayama, Yogic Breathing, Meditation, Ayurveda, Hindu Mythology, Business of Yoga

Mentorship requirements (Approximate 20-30 contact hours)

• Observe 2 classes a week. Arrive 15 minutes before your scheduled class to meet with your teacher. Sit in the back of the yoga room and be discreet. Take notes. Write down the teacher’s sequence and listen to specific cuing and language used to describe joint positions, alignment, transitions, and muscular engagement. • Turn in five 1-page (2-3 paragraphs each) essays summarizing your experience on what you learned and observed: How did the teacher interact with his/her students? How did he/she set up the room? How did he/she introduce him/herself and/or the theme of their class? What did you notice about the arc of the class and sequence? Was there a peak pose, a focus body part, or just an overall vinyasa flow? What types of adjustments did the teacher use (physical, approximal, demonstration)? How did the teacher attend to newer students and was the teacher attentive to students’ needs? What resonated with you most about the class? • Call/text your teacher to reserve your spot with at least a 2-day notice. Limit one Teacher Trainee per class. • Choose different mentors in order to learn from a variety of teaching styles.

Seva, Karma Yoga (Approximate minimum 10 hours)

• Volunteer time to any group or organization; does not have to be yoga-related.

Practice (Approximate 40-50 hours)

• Attend 3 classes per week at YogaBody to continue to deepen your asana practice in a classroom setting.

Non-Contact Hours (minimum of 20 hours, yet many students obtain up to 40+ hours throughout the course)

• Complete all homework assignments each week consisting of reading, journaling, anatomy worksheets, and asana related homework. Complete all quizzes, a midterm, and a written final. Complete a 30-minute preliminary presentation at the program’s conclusion. Complete an additional 75-minute final presentation, to be completed in person or submitted via video, in order to complete the program requirements. • Additional yoga studies are strongly recommended to continue to further your knowledge and expertise.
